"I don't think anyone should diet with the aim of it ending. Changing food habits for ever seems much more positive and effective in my opinion. " ^^^ this

"I would suggest that making a lifestyle change and generally eating better choices would be better than following a diet short term as your likely to like weight back on once you stop dieting " Agreed. I've never been on a diet myself but have had to make permanent changes recently on medical advice.

"It depends but the short answer is ofcourse as long as it takes to reach your goal, for me who follow a summer diet my goal is when I cant pinch so much body fat on the sides and when the abs are showing that tells me that I have reached my goal, how long are you dieting for and what are you goal weight? " What sort of diet you do?? Zero carbs, more cardio, both, slight calorie defect or what?

I dont do macros, all I do is to aim to hit my daily calories of 2600 which is 18200 calories weekly. I like to stay super strict during the week and on the weekend I allow myself abit more calories, that means I have to do 3 days a week of even lower calories which gives me about 500 extra calories which I then put in the bank to then use for the weekend. I also do alot of cardio such as cycling on the exersice bike and walking, what do you do?

"For me it's always the same food, just more or less of it depending on the weight goal at the time... It's a simple ratio of calories in/out Leaned down in recent years but when I was an 18 stone lump, was consuming 5,500 calories a day over 6/7 meals. Still have 6/7 meals now just smaller ones, cause I'm smaller The old saying rings true - "you are what you eat" ..." So true...

"If you have been overweight then watching your diet should continue for the rest of your life, because if you stop paying attention to your diet, and eat like you used to, then your weight will go back up again. I have never been above 11.5 stone and my target weight is 11 stone. If I ever go above 11 stone I watch what I eat so that it comes back down again. I weigh myself most days first thing in the morning so I never go above by more than a pound or so. Set yourself a target weight and reduce your calorie intake so you come down to it. Once you are under your target weight, eat a little more and treat yourself occasionally but if you ever go above it then straight back on the reduced calorie diet. You will soon learn how much you can eat to stay around your target weight, but weigh yourself every day so you never have more than a pound or so to lose to get back to your target." personally I think it’s very unhealthy to weigh more than once a week as you can easily get fixated on weight and numbers ...Weight can fluctuate on a daily basis especially for women so doing it on a weekly basis will give you a better understanding of how you are doing...

From what I'd call a normal diet eg eating what I fancied to cutting down on carbs a bit to lower my blood sugar.

I do it for 6 months then a 6 months slow bulk. I usually bulk up about 5 or so kgs. I like the process of switching between the different phases of it.
