Redditch

Spamalot.

That and Rocky Horror

Apart from those two exceptions, they're all shite and unrealistic. I never feel the need to spontaneously burst into song during my daily life.

I am also a miserable bastard most of the time

Les Mis or The Book of Mormon. Or Avenue Q. I really want to see the new(ish) stage production of Moulin Rouge next year.

There and to the left a bit

Really couldn't pick one have enjoyed musicals ever since being taken to see Oliver! at the cinema and loving it.

Of the old style musicals Singing In The Rain is a classic, American In Paris is sublime, Sound Of Music, King And I, My Fair Lady etc all have their appeal.

Then you have the Disney musicals from Jungle Book to Mary Poppins to consider.

Or 70s slightly darker musicals like Rocky Horror, Cabaret or even Fiddler On The Roof and the plethora of religious related ones (Jesus Christ Superstar, Godspell, Joseph)

They seemed to die a death mostly through the 80s and 90s although I thoroughly enjoyed Miss Saigon and Barnum during that time.

Then you have the rise of the "band" related musicals in the 2000's with Our House and American Idiot being my clear favourites.

And of course Moulin Rouge with it's attack on the senses that was just sumptuous.

As I said so many to choose from and couldn't pick just one

I havent seen many on stage live, so will go with Wicked.

I really liked the twist on the Wizard of Oz and the political undertones were sharp and clever.
