Do they put you off posting? If I see a thread with 100 replies I usually just assume there is nothing new I can add, so pass it by.

Is anyone else weird like me?

Mostly depends on the subject rather than # of replies I don’t expect anyone to get impressed with my wise words anyway so whatever I feel it happens

Same. Though sometimes if there's loads of comments I can't be bothered to read it all and don't want to post something that's already been discussed but that's more me being lazy than thinking about how likely I am to get a response.

I guess the other thing is feeling like if there are hundreds of replies, mine is just going to get lost in the noise and no one will read it or reply.

It is kind of disheartening when you add what you think is an interesting point, and it just gets ignored.

I know this isn't massively important, just wondered if anyone felt the same.

(I'm also aware that this will start to look ironic if this thread gets loads of replies...)

Once there are more than like 50 replies I usually can't be bothered reading all the comments so skip it

Yes, that's a big factor for me too - too lazy to read 100 replies, but I don't want to be that idiot who chimes in at the end with something that's been said 25 times already.

Varies on the subject matter, I don’t bother if people are having conversations within the thread that have no relevance.

Yeah that goes on quite a bit, it is a bit offputting

Forum clique and conversation killers ( aka me sometimes) are exist. Don’t ever think that your voice will be unheard. Someone somewhere will read it and friendship will blossom because of it

Haha, this is the most positive way of looking at it! Not always true though...

I swerve those ones too.

Other than that, I'll have a quick scan of the replies, often someone has already said roughly what I would have anyway, so I don't bother repeating it.

It does depend on the subject, if it's a topic I'm interested in or feel passionate about then I will read through and maybe comment or agree if what I want to say has already been said. If I see it going off on a tangent and people are just using it as an option to start their own convo or flirt then I will jump ship.

Does it have to be “always” ? “sometimes” works pretty well for me
