.....reading another post on here brought this book to mind

The Handmaiden's Tale (Margaret Atwood)

anyone read it? What did you think? Any other interesting reads to suggest?

funny i reread this about two months ago,i first read it about twenty years ago

try the red tent by oh cant remember the author i will look it up for you,its quite biblical but a realy good read,the red tent refers to the tent all the women go into when they have their periods,the men arent allowed to have any contact while this happens,and because they are a nomadic tribe,all the women over a time have synchronised.its not only about that obviously.another one is the last days of dog town,by same author,will get back to you with her name

If you liked the Handmaidens tale try

Woman on the Edge of Time by Marge Piercy.

It's another feminist classic that is well worth a read xx

All good reads that helped shape my feminism.

If you haven't read The Help yet (rather than see the film) then do.

Not feminism but thought provoking, A Fraction of the Whole by Steve Toltz. It takes a little getting into but stick with it.

found it .the authors name is Anita Diamant
