Eating a much healthier diet including lots of oily fish.

I had an awful diet until a few weeks ago and now it's totally changed.

I feel better for it plus the pounds will start to go x

Must say diet has been a huge thing for me this past week as well, no takeaways, a lot more variety, helps massively!

Distracting myself nightly playing tetris in the real world.

Then pass out in front of the tv 6 days a week. The 7th catch up on sleep.

Rinse repeat.

A good scrubbing twice a day helps to take care of my physical care. Work, gym, eating healthy, mates and family keeps the day going. Reading or listening to podcasts in downtime seals the deal for me!

I’ve been getting more and more anxious. I think being stuck inside is getting to me a little as now I’m actually feeling anxious about going outside. I’m not worried about getting sick, I’m not even sure what I’m worried about exactly.

So self care to me at the moment is forcing myself outside the house. Also, cutting back on sugar and caffeine has helped (Cutting back, not stopped. I don’t have that much willpower )

"Handstands and more handstands! "

I've been practising my headstands - can do two types now! Handstands are a way off...

Self care:

- Keeping a good sleeping routine

- Exercising every outside every day (running or long walks)

- Yoga

- Cooking from scratch, started getting a veg box so experimenting with things I wouldn't usually buy

- Baking and 'healthy' cake for breakfast (apple, banana, carrot, sweet potato...)

- Buying treats with money I'm saving on travel/socialising etc

- Not beating myself up when spending time doing nothing

- Getting involved in arty/photo challenges

- Phone/Zoom with friends and family

Keeps me busy! I'm enjoying my own company and feel pretty lucky.

I'm finding learning and expanding skills to be most beneficial to my mental health at the moment. Losing myself in books, blogs, podcasts. Writing, or thinking about writing. Things I like and enjoy anyway... and can lose myself in.

Staying off Fab (no offence to any Fab folk, but sometimes it just needs to be done).

Walking more (hurrah for more outdoors time).

Browsing Etsy, Ebay, Pinterest and Instagram. A lot.

Watching films that i enjoy and those that i know will lift my mood.

Listening to music.

Not reading/watching any news.

But with lockdown, I can’t do neither - so it’s lots of walks with headphones in

Sounds really weird, but I made a chocolate cake with mashed sweet potato (and more mashed sweet potato in the frosting). I was sceptical but it was delicious! Recipe from Lazy Cat Kitchen.

Going to try a beetroot cake this week!

Bought myself a full height basketball post/hoop so I can practice. Did some outdoor gym stuff yesterday with my PT (he's my one person to meet in a park). I did sprints/shuttles in the wheelchair using trees as markers while he ran alongside randomly lobbing a basketball at me. I think we looked a bit nuts, but it was good to go somewhere different and speak to someone else!

I have just had a week off and done nothing but sleep. We’ve had a worrying year up to now with my dads health and I think I was under more stress than I realised. Finally felt with it on Friday so have spent 2 days sewing and made myself a lap quilt to snuggle under.

Take care everyone x
