Seen a few replies re another thread about washings that some people don’t iron their clothes. So the question is how do you wear yours?

Me I like to iron mine. Can’t imagine going into work with my shirt and trousers like a roadmap!.

Do you all wear stretchy materials ?

I hate ironing.

Love wearing jeggings and leggings for that reason but i've never owned one single top or dress that doesn't need ironing.

You either look scruffy or are swaddled in sweaty sports gear.

If im wrong tell me how to be a non ironer.... don't say it's how you wash em.....

Noooo. I have a special technique for ironing if I do have something a tad crumbled. I lay it flat and sit on it whilst I do my hair and makeup. My bum heats it up and the creases come out. It’s brilliant

Nope. Wash, dry, finish off in dryer. If you get the clothes out of the dryer quick enough, give them a shake and hang them up straight away they don’t need it. Haven’t ironed for about 10 years!

All my jeans are skinny with some stretch so don't need ironing. Most of my tops or dresses are synthetic materials and that just dry without creases on their own. If I wear anything cotton though I'll iron it as that always has creases in if you don't.

I mainly wear joggies, vest top and hoodie. None of which need ironing. Or skinny jeans, leggings. I dress for comfort.

trouble most likely, or creating it :)

I tend to buy stuff that doesnt need ironing. But have the odd item that will require it.. although I've found hanging it up in the bathroom while showering helps the creases drop out x shame it doesnt work for me

Only the odd thing needs ironing for me like a shirt so luckily don't need to on a regular basis. Things come out fine as they are from the washing machine. Phew!

Anything else that would have needed ironing would have gone to dry cleaners anyway so they come back as good as new everytime.

I do if I'm going out in town and obviously my military kit is always ironed within an inch of its life. I don't bother for every day clothes though, I'm fairly muscular and wear well fitted clothes so it pulls the creases out

very rarely , as soon as their out the wash I whip ( expression ) them , then hang them up accordingly , usually they won't need ironing , occasionally some items do , but usually now thankfully ,,,

My ironing pile is currently about 4' high as my ironing fairy is not working at the moment.

I've developed a new technique, of folding things perfectly, then the weight of the ironing like presses them, the old fashioned way

I take clothes from the bottom of the pile - it's all good.

Sorry ironing fairy, I may have a new solution going forward

I wear a uniform for work, I iron that, and the odd posh frock but that's all.

Iron if I need to, but I wear a lot of stretchy clothing, lace and pvc/latex anyway, so not needed! The truth is out now- I became a goth/alt girl because of the lack of ironing needed for the clothing, not because of the music etc, haha xx

same or clothes that require minimal maintenance/look better a little distressed. Also, Iron In A Can is good - Spritz over crumpled clothes then hang them up for 30mins. Smells gorgeous and really works

Thankfully I have a ‘magic wicker basket’. At the top of the stairs.

Dirty clothes go in and a few days later they reappear in the wardrobe or drawers all clean and ironed.

My mum was like this too. She was trying to do everything her mum who stayed at home did despite being a full time theatre manager. It's a rediculous expectation to place on yourself in my opinion. If it makes you happy then great but I don't think that's what it was about for her.

I iron stuff that needs ironing. Works uniform, my kids uniform or anything that needs a press. Stuff like hoodies and leggings and tracksuit bottoms and gym stuff just gets put away without ironing.

I make a point of wearing things that don't need an iron. But, if you fold things nicely and put them at the bottom of the pile, they are fine by the time they get to the top of the pile

I iron everything except socks, pants and bed sheets/duvet covers - I've occasionally been known to wear jeans without ironing them but it doesn't feel right.

I've also ironed all my own things since I was a teenager and had to iron my Sea Cadet uniform, so ironed my other stuff too

I iron everything apart from underware - clothes, bedding & curtains all get done.....

I've friends who 'don't have time' because they have a kid & work part time - I have 4 kids from 5 months to 16 years old AND my own business & a puppy.... but always find time to keep my house clean & tidy, (including inside cupboards, drawers & the shed) washing basket & ironing basket empty 80% of the time & gardens clean, tidy & presentable!

The vast majority of my clothing doesn't need ironing.

In fact I have donated and sold clothing because, much as I like them they just take too much ironing.

Hubby irons his own work shirts and trousers.

Myself, I iron clothing that is visible to folk. I don’t iron socks, knickers or bras etc. Moving on from clothes, I iron pillow cases and one side of the duvet cover. I don’t iron towels, dish towels, dish clothes etc life is too short.

I have a friend that is allergic to ironing and I have another friend that irons EVERYTHING

My ironing board gives a little happy dance if it ventures out of the cupboard

As others have said, stretchy non iron clothing, hang clothes up and only iron when it really has to be done! I love winter as everything goes in the tumble dryer and comes out perfectly smooth

No and if a shirt is creased when I'm heading out for a night. I wrap it up in an ice cube and stick in the dryer for a bit. It comes out ironed. No creases at all

I used to help my mum look after an old lady who did this! She used to fold things flat, put newspaper between the layers and sit on it in her rocking chair! Crumbs, you mentioning that has taken me back a few decades

I avoid ironing wherever possible. Hang things up to dry on hangers, having shaken and smoothed out creases, curled edges etc and, in an emergency, I have been known to use my hair dryer on the hot setting to get a hem to sit flat

if I can avoid it. I've heard of a spray called crease release by lenore that is supposed to be really good, you spray it on something creased and the creases are supposed to just literally fall out of it. I haven't tried it but I've heard good things.
