"Silly question maybe, what's the difference between jealousy and envy? Personally. I think envy is wanting/desiring something someone else maybe has. Like, wow I wish I had one of those or I wish my relationship was like that, but not in a “I wish you didn’t have that”’ kind of way. Whereas jealousy is more resentful and bitter. If that makes sense!!" Yes

"Does jealously have value in driving humans to improve themselves or is it a purely negative emotion?" Yes it does have value into people improving themselves. Jealously isnt always a negative it can also be a positive,it really goes on who's jealous and to the extreme it's taken to and that goes on the person who jealous But we are all human at the end of the day and jealously is a emotion like any other, so jealously can be turned into a positive like anything else

Jealousy is more "you have that and I want it, so I'm going to do whatever I can to take it off of you" Personally, I think it's a very negative emotion

"There’s been an influx of Lamborghini’s driving through my town and also seen an F12 Berlinetta, I *think* one of the boys I know is opening his gym illegally and letting these out of towners use it cos I’ve seen them parked outside it. Listening to these cars and seeing them I get jealous, it’s more than envy, it’s like fuck I wish I had that. Motors make me feel jealous. " You’ve always been hot, but now you’ve been able to identify a Lamborghini and a specific model of Ferrari, you’ve just flown off the scale..... Expect many marriage propositions.

"I'm not a jealous person but I do get envious of people. It doesn't make me anger or bitter which I think for me is the difference. I feel envious a lot on here " I agree on that being the difference. I think it's possible to be happy for others while being envious but not when feeling jealous.

"The main difference between envy and jealousy is that envy is the emotion of coveting what someone else has, while jealousy is the emotion related to fear that something you have will be taken away by someone else. Neither are particularly attractive." Neither of these is negative for a person with strong sense of self-worth. But to those who do not they can both be toxic.
