In a town Fab forgot

Chap I used to work with insisted on hand writing one letter a week, to a member of his family or a friend.

He said it helped maintain his ability to write, found it soothing and it was always nicer and more meaningful to receive a hand written letter.

When he left the company we had a whip round. Someone thought it would be a great idea to get him a nice pen as a leaving gift.

One of the girls said she'd nip into WH Smith's to get a pen at lunchtime.

I said that as we'd raised well over a hundred quid we could do better than a high street shop, and she asked where she could get a really nice pen from.

I suggested she googled "pen island".

Her shocked screams suggested that wasn't a good idea.....
