Given the present situation and its consequential difficulties, can I still use my car with an expired MOT?

If it expired after 30/4 you have a 6 month automatic extension

If it expired during lock lown then yes , but must be road worthy! If before lockdown then no!

Garages around here are still open & continuing to mot vehicles for people. I got a motorcycle done a few weeks back.

Not a key worker but we were having car issues so it became our only means of transport for a week or so.

To be on the safe side, check your vehicle on this site: https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history

It will tell you if your mot is valid and when it's next due.
