Have anybody ever been somewhere shop/pub or else where, and looked at who is near, and has been in touching distance from someone from here?

There and to the left a bit

Touching distance? The nearest it goes is "within quarter of a mile" so unless you're outside somewhere in the middle of nowhere touching distance would be a stretch (pun completely intended )

I've read other people say this "touching distance" thing too, I wonder if it's maybe an old feature?

I know I can be sitting next to my other half on the couch and it says withing a quarter mile. My couch ain't that big.

Yes Inhad touching distance come up when I was in a holiday resort in Kos a couple of years ago. I think I worked out who the guy was but it wasn’t easy from his pictures. He was about 10-12 metres away.

I wonder if it happening is a function of gps accuracy. As GPS is only accurate to within 100 metres radius two phones next to each other could appear to be up to two hundred metres apart. So it would need both phones to be showing the same location to come up with touching distance.

Manchester (she/her)

Quarter of a mile is as close as I've been, although these days I turn the function off 99% of the time.

Fulwood

I normally feel my home office tag vibrate that I’m within restraining order distance of someone wayyyy before Fab tells me 1/4 mile but I don’t think I’ve ever seen touching distance as a setting. I thought GPS was now accurate to 10m ?? So i suppose it’s possible to be pretty close to another member ?

I may be wrong and hands up I usually am but I think I read a post on here once that stated on fab guys the distance is closer than a quarter of a mile so maybe the op is also on fab guys.

As I say I may be wrong.

If I check ours now then the nearest is 113 miles away so when in the UK The Who is near feature freaks us right out.
