Think of how hard its been for you during lockdown. Not been able to go anywhere.. When you're not there he's on lockdown

"I ask this because as from Wednesday I'm back at work . As Pooch has clung to me like Velcro for over a month hes probably got used to me being around 24/7 . Hes not going to be happy I'm going to have this problem too. He's stuck to me like glue recently. Can you get someone to take him out in the middle of the day? " Not at the moment , not till social restrictions are eased ( which I'm not saying they should btw ) x

"Separation anxiety is very real. But with some pets, you also see the sheer joy at reunion." I know the first day he'll go mental when I get home , it's the first few days I'm worried about more

Sorry didn't mean to make you feel bad. Just from the pooches perspective..make as much of a fuss as you can for as long as possible

"Mine has never been happier being surrounded by family all of the time, not to mention the longer than normal walks each day. I expect separation anxiety will be a factor when 'normal' resumes if it ever does!" I hadn't given it any thought until this morning , now its hit me with worry

I know the first day he'll go mental when I get home , it's the first few days I'm worried about more " What can you do to make him happier while you're not there? Things you can leave. An old shirt that smells like you? I heard some advice about dogs with separation anxiety when their people go on holiday. Their main person sleeps wearing an old shirt for a week, and then the old shirt, reeking of Main Person, is left to remind the dog.

"Friend of mine in Norway grew her hair really long and sneaked her kitten into work under her hair (true story!) I'm guessing even with a lockdown hairdo this wouldn't work with your dog OP" Not with my thinning thatch

"My vet reccommended from the start of lockdown leaving our puppy in a room alone for a while during points of the day so he gets used to us not being around ALL the time. That might help get your pooch used to you going back to work if you do it regularly & perhaps build it up. 10 minutes intially, working up to a couple of hours. " I only have till Wednesday morning

"Get a Pet Remedy plug in diffuser lovely, I've got one for my little ahole xxx What does it do , I'm thick " Yep my mum used this with their nervy dog, I was initially cynical but it definitely worked. You could tell when it ran out as he'd revert back to being nervous.
