When you know there’s something you have to, or really should do, but you have no interest or emotional/intellectual investment in it whatsoever, how do you manage to just get on with it?

Under the Duvet

Motivating myself to start is sometimes the hardest part. So I set the timer on my phone and say I'm going to do, say, 20 minutes. Break it down into manageable chunks, which are less daunting.

20 mins and a break then another 20 mins and a break.

Rinse and repeat.

Works for me

Glad to hear I’m not the only one who gets off the line like an arthritic tortoise.

As for thinking of someone else, alas this issue isn’t lady related.... although to be fair, I’d take that as an alternative!

I am normally quite focused till the end result. I am more of a logical person than emotional.

Wakefield/ Beverley

The end goal can look daunting but the individual steps of the journey are what you focus on first, one step at a time. Then give yourself positive feedback about the individual steps you have accomplished, the goal then will be attained but the journey will be special.

Somewhere near here

I procrastinate and then procrastinate much more. I’m terrible at putting things off. GCSE, A Level, 2 degrees, postgrad etc etc and I still haven’t learnt.

Ultimately though, I imagine a time where I don’t have to think about said task and how great that must feel.

Perpignan and cap

Generally I don't, or put it off right up to the last minute.
