I'm thinking of going to this tomorrow. Anyone able to give some hints as to best places to position oneself to get some decent photographs?

Flying starts at 3pm. The sun should be SW-ish - so hopefully should be able to get some reasonable non-sun affected shots.

Do the planes enter the A-Axis from East or West, or is it just pot luck?

went must have been 15-16 years ago and recall most of the display was paralell to the beach front (as required following the farnbough crash back in the 50's) except the Red Arrows entrance which was from over the town..

so just get yrself a good spot down on the beach

I'm more tempted to go to Lowestoft as it will have the 7 arrows display ... but if I get bored tomorrow - then I might give it a go to get a bit more practice getting the exposures right.

least its free (apart from parking, etc) but despite the line up as a whole see a fem gems in there ... just be sure to have yr long lens with you (so can perve the beauties in their bikini's between the air displays without fear of being caught ogling)

Trouble is - the lens is never long enough...even when fully extended!

If you do go take plenty of sun tan lotion

I used to do some judging at aerobatic competitions, so obviously (as with an airshow) you spend a lot of time looking up.

I forgot to bring some on one occasion and returned looking like a doppelganger for a Ribena berry !
