Walking down the only road I've ever known!

75 years ago my mam and dad were 3 yes old, my grand parents were young.

Men and women fought to keep this country safe from tyranny, they celebrated the ending the war with street parties and victory parades.

75 years on we are fighting our own crisis which is completely opposite to their plight.

Yes fly the flag stand tall be proud of their achievement, but do it sensibly stay home have a party in your garden, raise a glass or 2 but most of all stay home and stay safe.

Good morning to one and all.

I have vivid memories of V.E. day in 1945 and all the spontaneous parties on that day, I was 5 years old and with my mother we went to a party in the town centre, it was very crowded and I remember lots of fireworks being let off, one of which, a jumping jack landed on my leg, causing a serious burn which resulted in me finishing up in the local cottage hospital.Now 75 years on I still think about two uncles who never came home.
