I know this, I've never heard a bad word said about Cornwall! Everybody whose mentioned it in my circles and it's been mentioned enough over the years says it's lovely.

Cream on 1st! We invented the bloody things & it was served with scrumpy not tea.

Cornwall is close to Heaven... That's why it's joined to Devon

So far the main justifications seem to be cream teas and pasties...but the cream tea was invented in Tavistock (Devon) and pasties are thought to originate from France

right pasties are 100% cornish and where made for the miners to eat for their lunch and the handle was meant to be thrown away as the coal on their hands would be all over it NOT FRENCH!!!!

lately the queen herself stated that the jam should go on first so I'd say a royal approval of the cornish way seals it for me

Hate to tell you this, but first records of pasties are from the 1100s in France, then across different parts of Europe and the UK (including a written reference to them in the early 1500s in Devon!), long before they become prevalent in Cornwall...

Pasties were originally from Devon just something else the Cornish stole. Cream goes on first as it replaces the butter

(Also, photo evidence from the mining era suggests they didn't actually hold them by the crust, but ate them end to end held in a small muslin or cotton bag which was then washed)
