Same, I started off drinking more, and buying drinks I hadn't tried before as something to look forward to after work.

Then a couple of weekends ago I got really d*unk and had the most horrendous hangover, that's brought my alcohol consumption right back down.

"Yeah, drinking too much really. Not going to worry about it though."

I'd suggest worry is a pointless negative emotion

However I would also suggest that it should concern you enough to take control

Just remember why you pour great disdain upon those addicted to morphine, crack, methamphetamine, cannabis??

Please take my tone correctly

Not one of condemnation or disdain but one of careful this drug sneaks up on you and destroys your mind and health if not very alert

Bravado bragging is not cool or at least no cooler than Renton in train spotting cooking up to numb the pain x

Under the Duvet

If you're concerned about your drinking OP maybe aim for one or couple of dry nights a week, something doable.

If you're just drinking because it's become a habit maybe try some of the alcohol free beers available , the Brewdog Nanny State is a good one the Bud Black isn't bad . AF beers are much better than they used to be. ASDA from memory has a good selection.

Or maybe aim for five beers a night rather than six and gradually bring it down.

Hope that helps.

You wont be alone in drinking more than you used to in lockdown.

If I thought I was developing problem with alcohol I would probably take it more seriously. I am drinking more than I normally would, but these aren’t normal times.

When I say I’m not going to worry about it, I mean that I will re-assess when things approach normality.

Having to much time on your hands especially with lockdown it's easy to get into bad habits.

Great advice above, is to cut down from 6 to 5 and so on. Eventually having dry days maybe.

It's good and necessary to give your body a break x

Worthing

Don't drink so it's not affected me. I go to a lot of gigs. It was hassle trying to get through crowd to the toilets and then having to wait or avoid the "spillage" (ugh!) so just got used to having water. I never miss a song!

Definitely not. However I wasn't drinking at all and now I do allow myself a small glass of wine now and then because I struggled with sleep greatly. I know though its temporary. I dont like relying on it. And I am aware of it.
