drop a bag of veg?

usually they say that it is to increase your exercise. some small things can add up, get off a bus early, park further way rather than closer.

a few more steps quickly adds up

get the heart rate up

Less carbs that just turn into sugar in your body. Consuming too many calories is the problem

I got myfitnesspal app on my phone and started last Sunday. So far so good. If it has a barcode it scans.

Have a look it might be your thing. It's a free app.

Less sugar, more exercise. I've gone from 86kg to 77kg by cycling and running more. Another 5kg to go

Cut your carb intake by half and walk briskly for half an hour a day extra. Substitute potatoes, rice, pasta etc with vegetables such as cauliflower, broccoli, leafy greens. Have cake, sweets, biscuits etc but only at weekends and then in moderation.

What’s your starting weight? You could lose 11lbs in less than 2 weeks if you were very strict.

Drink nothing but water or fruit/herbal teas. I like lemon and ginger tea.

Don’t eat anything other than lean meat like turkey or chicken, oily fish like mackerel or tuna, eat eggs, vegetables, no fruit or fruit juices.

If you could honestly only eat those things for 14 days you’d drop 11lbs or more depending on how much you have to lose.

Thanks peeps! Easy to avoid cake, sweets, biscuits etc completely but my problem is cooking hearty meals, think homemade sausage rolls, garlic chicken with potatoes, curries. I need to get on it and was debating keto. Inspired by all the fit bodies here

You can eat homemade curry just have it with cauliflower rice instead.

3,500 calories in 1lb!! So you’d have to cut your calories by 500 a day to lose 1lb in a week. If you wanted it to come off slowly you could eat less strictly and it would come off in around 3 months.

If you want to shed quickly be much stricter with what you eat, then when it’s off you eat to maintain so then you can relax a bit but still be in deficit so you continue to lose a 1lb a week in a healthy way.

I can talk the talk but don’t walk the walk! Look at my mid section. I’m not an example of practice what I preach!

I dont advocate keto

I do advocate less than 150 g carb per day and about 1500 cal in total

I recommend against any extremes unless you understand exactly what you are doing

I'd also suggest very little alcohol for a month

Know absolutely in the first week if you reduce carbohydrates the weight you will lose will at least be 30 percent glycogen and water not fat

I used the free my fitness pal app at first .this helps track what food you eat and its macro contents .this will guide you where you need to change .as others have said go low carb .plan. and prep meals so you dont make last minute poor decisions. Drink more water. Sprint and jog is better than running .

Dont get too focused on your weight. Body shape will change .

Make permanent changes long term rather than fads x goid luck

You should NOT guess guesses are mostly wrong

Download my fit pal

Read and understand it

Calculate your daily maintenance cals

1800 I guess

Look at the macros it gives you

Set your goal to lose 1.5 lbs per week

Adjust carbs to 150

They will be close I guess

A daily restriction of about 500 cals from base over 3 meals will not be pain will be a gain and a lose of about 500g per week fat over a month 6 weeks

The extra will be water and carb

1800 should be do able however that's what I'm guessing mfp will suggest is your maintaining calories

Assuming you increase beyond bazel and actually use 2000 cals daily

To lose a genuine lb of fat per week you will need to consistently aim for 1500

150 g carb = 600

100 g protein =400

60 g fat = 500

Mpf will enable you to hit this constantly
