Wouldn’t say best but one that bothered me was a film called case 39, it’s not hugely popular and I’ve seen thousands of horrors but that film made me not be able to go to sleep. Was the fact that it talks about demons feeding off your emotions that done my head in!

I (her) watched so many horror films as a child that I can't sit through them anymore.

Recently my daughter tried to get me to sit through the last Halloween film. Well I got to about 20 mins into the film, my anxiety and fear were through the roof and I left the room to go and do something else other than continue to put myself through that.

Nope, these kinds of films are not for me x

House of a thousand corpses - Made me feel really unsettled for days and still refuse to rewatch it.

IT - the original, my sisters let me watch it when I was six, had a fear of clowns ever since. Watched the new one and while good didn’t scare me like the first.

Chucky - watched the same night as IT (think my sisters hated me) that was the night I stopped playing with dolls and my mum had to remove the china dolls from my room.

Tough one. I never really arrange things as favourites in my head but some that spring to mind that I've enjoyed:

As a kid- Nightmare on elm st, people under the stairs, the thing, psycho.

As older, dawn of the dead remake, the conjuring, get out, let the right one in, scream.

Not particularly horrific these days, but I do have a very soft spot for the old Hammer/Dennis Wheatley movie, "The Devil Rides Out" with Christopher Lee and the FAB Charles Grey as the evil Mocata!

Honourable mentions to, "The Howling", "An American Werewolf in London", the original, "Omen" trilogy and, "Nightmare on Elm Street" pts. 1 & 3!

Oh and, "Carry on Screaming" always gave me nightmares as a kid...!

Yes, I wasn't so much of a fan of Braindead. The scene with the lawnmower was too OTT for me - like too silly. Although it's not horror, give me Meet The Feebles any day instead. I'll check out Outpost

Nowadays I prefer psychological horror over out and out gore. I really enjoyed Hereditary and have The Witch and The Lighthouse to watch at some point. I watched It Follows based on a few recommendations, and although it was OK I wouldn't say it lived up to the hype.

The original ‘The Fly’ black and white version has a really grisly ending.

Also a film called ‘Night of the Demon’ also in black and white is a great film. It’s actually got a famous line that Kate Bush used Hounds of love ‘its in the trees,it’s coming’ another well worth a watch.
