I've flown home from a skiing holiday on the flight deck with the pilots. Really interesting to see. Long story but not enough seats for passengers and that was the only safe (and spare) place to sit. Well before 9/11 days obviously and now the flight deck doors are locked. Wouldn't happen today.

Newcastle Australia, they figured mum'd left it too late to migrate north and had the calf alone near the coast.

Coast guard and the locals stuck up a perimeter and made sure they were safe. Could see them from the beach for weeks...

Was brilliant

Did that a few times back in the day on standby travel - it’s good fun and did they give you the drill about how to break the cockpit window to escape in an emergency down the ladder? And give you the headset to listen in to Air Traffic Control? I miss those days!
