I watched a renovation work program of a house yesterday, it was a chinese couple and the program presenter needed them to select doors, the man said sorry I cant do it on my own the wife have to be here so he took alot of pics she couldnt be with them that day, then the husband said a a joke to the presenter, "a calm wife is a happy wife and they laughed, is the saying true? lol.

My first instinct is that I find that really patronising and limiting. Happiness comes from being respected, valued and loved, regardless of your emotional state. I can imagine that being excluded from household decisions would rock the boat, so it’s a shame he didn’t say it enjoy making joint decisions with my wife’. It’s like that phrase ‘no drama’...women are beautifully dramatic sometimes, if they’re allowed to express themselves fully, and the more men who show up to witness and hold space for our full expression, the better!
