hotel booking

So a friend (also male) had planned a night out in Milton Keynes, months ago. It's booked for the 8th of may, the hotel has informed us they will be opening thay night. Although we both highly doubt it. Wondering if we should bother. We could both do with a change of scenery. But seems pointless if nothing is open. If, and that's a big if, social distancing is relaxed, what would you do?

newmarket

If it’s paid for and if there open you won’t get your money back so just go. Just get some drinks in and enjoy a night away

That's what we are thinking. Only an hours drive for us. And never know. May be other people in the hotel. Party in the lobby

Is it an essential journey though? The Police may stop you?

Hopefully it's improved since the early 90's when 'The Point'was the only thing there.

Apart from the concrete cows of course....

The latest lockdown measures go on till 7th then they have a few more days to review them before deciding what to do but its going to be a long time yet till 'normal' service resumes

Either way, good luck & stay safe

Hull

Whether the hotel is open or not depends on the local Council authorities, within the remit of EHO, Health & Safety and other regulatory depts.

From details sourced via our local council in respect of the hotel I work at, the tentative rules are that whilst bedrooms are generally ok and safe to use, there won't be any open Bar or Restaurant facilities.

Meals may be restricted to Room Service only, for both evening meals and/or breakfasts, unless the hotel puts a limit on occupancy levels to allow for careful social distancing in Food Service areas.

But, the overall thinking is that even if hotels would be allowed to open, it's possible it wouldn't be till at least June.

Some hotels have been allowed to remain open, because they've been providing accommodation for key workers specific to their area or regional location.
