Maybe, she has a partner and doesnt swing any more so I m not counting on it. I have an old colleague near where I live that I might try and hookup with after the lockdown.

Yes. It’s some combination of geography, logistics, personal circumstances and not creating an opportunity through my own inertia that has prevented me from meeting them.

However that doesn’t mean I value the friendship any less. I don’t often meet up with friends outside of Fab either. Even local ones I only see a few times a year.

The ones I see regularly I work with or play music with.

I have friends on here I've never met. Some I possibly will never meet due to their situation or geography. Most I would love to meet, whether purely socially or for more.

I have friends on here I've never actually spoken to - our friendship is purely message-based, and that's fine too.

We've never seen the point in having a huge friends list and giving access to selected photos to people we've not met and engaged with enough to make a better judgement of.

Life on Fab isn't a popularity contest and adding complete strangers opens up a greater risk of people abusing photo access (as has happened to a few recently!) and let's face it - that's all adding someone to a friends list does - gives access to more photos.

You can be sociable, friendly and have 'virtual friends' without the need to add them to a list.

Then it depends on your definition of friends really.

There are people we chat to, some more often than others. But I wouldn't class anyone as a 'friend' that we don't know personally and have physically met. If you're saying someone is a friend just because you swap messages however frequently then that's fine. But online personas are often different to real life and if you actually met you may well change your opinion.

I suppose someone you chat on video with, by phone or in any manner offsite would be more of a friend than just contact on here.

Most of the friends I have on here I have never met we havnt met for a.number of reasons from location to lockdown and it's ok we get on great and one day I'm sure we will meet I'd the opportunity arises
