Rescue dogs are amazing. All mine have been rescues, some pure breeds and some mongrels.

In all honesty, I think the kennel club has a lot to answer for when it comes to dog breeds, especially breed standards that encourage potentially, and sometimes actual, damaging bone structures and sizes. Look at show regulation German Shepherds for one; have to have a spine that curves down to the haunches. Set up for hip problems.

British bulldogs that pelvises are so deformed the majority have to have c sections to have a litter.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, whose skulls can be too small for their brain.

I could go on but I won’t as I’m a massive dog lover and this gets me wound up

I've got 2 rescue greyhounds, well a greyhound and a lurcher technically. They're fantastic, so gentle and easy going. Can't see me ever having another breed
