When my son was at primary school they taught them about Elvis and cliff richard, we had to learn about beatles and pink floyd Do they still do this in schools as the bee gees thread got me thinking

Is this history lessons you're on about Diamond??? I remember we did the Repeal of the Corn Laws and Strip Farming (not as interesting as a swinger would hope for!) in great detail, but we didn't touch on any popular culture type stuff, but then my younger siblings covered stuff like Bobby Sands......my mam thought none of this was "proper" history as we didn't look at Tudors, Stuarts, Elizabethans etc, so as a history buff herself, she made sure we knew all that stuff

D'oh, bit thick today lol ....now you've said music lesson, don't remember much from pre age 11 but do remember doing Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds at big school
