Traditional seaside holidays

We love them, it's how we went on holiday as kids and now sharing those happy childhood experiences with our own children by having uk caravan holidays. In boredom we have already booked 3 Haven holiday's and a week at Butlins for next year. Lockdown is starting to get expensive

We live relatively close to several 'traditional seaside' destinations that get thousands of visitors each year.

Fuck knows why.

For a start it's not really the sea and secondly there's absolutely fuck all to do when you get to any of them except sit on sand, visit overpriced coffee and fish and chip shops and drive inland to see anything interesting.

I suppose if you live in the middle of the city it makes a change but if we ever actually got a chance for a holiday it would be the other side of the bloody world!!

We have 4 children, one of which is disabled so going abroad would be to stressful for me.

I love playing games on the beach with the kids, having fish & chips and playing in the amusements

Maybe I'm old fashioned and boring

Nope. They suit your needs so al's good.

I guess living here we see it all the time so there's no 'novelty value'to us.

Likewise I guess people in Las Vegas get bored of casinos and shows and people who live on paradise islands full of white sands and palm trees long to head to Torremolinos.

Ok. Maybe not the second example so much.....

We have had some fantastic holidays in the UK. If you can get the right weather, then the UK has so much to offer.

Spending quality time with children building sandcastles and crab hunting is what they will remember.

We daren't book any holidays in case travel isn't permitted. Wouldn't want to loose any money.

Yes we love this as well, we have holidays booked for next year, Haven and Butlins, holidays parks are giving full refunds so I'm not to worried. Can't see the parks opening again this year

We've done a few UK beach holidays in the last few years.

Beautiful beaches at Barmouth in Wales, Port Erin in the Isle of Mann,Scarborough and Whitby.

I'm not a huge fan of Blackpool but kids love it .I prefer a bit further along the coast to St Annes or the opposite direction towards Fleetwood.

Parents used to live on the south coast so Hastings, Eastbourne Bexhill and Rye all have their charms.

Loads of lovely,interesting, places to explore in this country.

We enjoy city breaks too. In recent years we've loved Lincoln, Dundee and Glasgow to name but three.

The only problem for me is by the time we've factored in the (ridiculous) price of train fare and a few nights accommodation it usually works out dearer than a week all inclusive abroad. The UK is very rarely cheap and cheerful.

We always have a great time though and my 10year old has probably seen more of the UK than most adults.
