There and to the left a bit

"Yup. But more to see if I match their type. "

That's not totally foolproof though as some don't have a specific "type"

I may glance at the "type" of veris they choose to display and also write to get a feel for the person over and above their profile text but beyond that I don't take a great deal of notice of them

I do question if their veris are only from social meets. Does this mean they're all talk and no action? Hmmmm...

Yes when they are available. They can offer more information about who you might wish to message. Sometimes they can be a positive and sometimes a negative.

"I do question if their veris are only from social meets. Does this mean they're all talk and no action? Hmmmm..."

Some decide to make public only social veris, and keep meet veris private.

It's far from "all talk no action"

I guess some don't want to display the intimate details

Yes, sometimes the verifications paint a beautiful picture.

Like to make my messages personal so that the recipients know that i am messaging them specifically and often the verifications contain that extra nugget of information

"What do you all look for in the veris "

I use them as a filter as to whether I might wish to get in touch.

It can reveal a lot about them that's not on their profile

No, I like to form my own opinions of people based on me getting to know them. My way of dealing with people is different and personal to me so therefore I will get a totally different response than someone they met previously.

Quite an enlightening thread!

On another recent thread (about disappearing veri’s), some were pushing that veri’s had little or no value, so it’s good to see many on here saying how they DO check them, which is what I do and what very often happens when others look to meet me.

Reply privatelyReply in forumReply +quote

By (user no longer on site)

"Messaging someone? "

We check they exist but we prefer to make up our own minds just as we expect the same treatment. We don’t publish verifications as we’re about quality not quantity and prefer to not kiss and tell.

We check that they are real, but don't worry about what they say - we'll make up our own minds about them when/if we meet.

I do most of the messaging on our account. I’m always careful not only to check the profile but the veri’s as well to see if they have met with any TV’s. If they have then I’m happy to go ahead and message.

Also I think veri’s give you a good idea of compatibility.

"I do question if their veris are only from social meets. Does this mean they're all talk and no action? Hmmmm..."

I used to only show social veri's - to my mind, it's enough to show I'm real, I'm nice, and to give an idea of my personality. Anything else is private in my book.

Now I don't show any.

When we were meeting we'd read any that were there but unless there were glaringly obvious red flags the content didn't matter. Made no difference if it was a social veri or a play one. We tended to avoid those with only multiple cam veris but no meets as that indicated a preference for online as opposed to real life. We also met unverified people but not brand new profiles or those on site for years with no little green tick.

Veris are just a part of a profile. Not the be all and end all.

Nope. I don't need to see that. In 12 years I've managed to work out all by myself whether someone is genuine or not. I think I must have a sixth sense or something.

I have a lot from socials...its interesting as many people seem to struggle with no shows, fakes etc ...I know verris are not full proof but certainly a lot of people seem to use them as some measure of gauging authenticity etc ..

She was 18 and all of the veris said they knew her on her old account.
