A local baker advertised take away bread, cakes etc.

I ordered two doughnuts and two custard slices,

It was the first time in years I’ve had a custard slice and they were wonderfully tasty, anyone else like them?

Now that definitely got my attention, custard slices. Now they have to be the work of the devil for their naughtiness. However, it’s conjured up the thought of sploshing in cold custard...

The difficulty with the custard slice is biting into it without losing half the custard. I always use my tongue and slowly slide it along between the layers going a little deeper every time to get the custard goodness from between the layers before biting the pastry outer. The Mr Xx

I bloody love them. I used to work in a bread shop that also made cakes, one of which was a custard slice .... divine.
