American thoughts

I could well be wrong, but my assessment of America is that everyone along the Great Lakes, coasts and mountains seem fairly normal, if a touch murdery, while everyone in the middle is fucking insane.

Well am I wrong, or am I Wrong?

Yes you're wrong. They are actually a misunderstood type of genius.

You know when you see those documentaries where white people contact isolated tribes and live with them for a while. Well within 2 years, two thirds of that tribe will die from disease that the camera crew bought with them. In contrast, the Sentinelese have survived for hundreds of years following a simple rule of thumb: spear the fuck out of outsiders.

There's method to their madness.

Well, I live in the foothills of the Rockies in Colorado and I'm perfectly normal. Any one of my 6 cats will confirm that, and if they're busy the toaster will stick up for me

Can’t comment on the sanity part but I’ve been to quite a few different parts of America and there isn’t a friendlier bunch of people in my experience.

my opinion of the states is I look at it as a divided country.

for some the only way they can make something of themselves is to turn to crime.

others live in well off areas away from the trouble areas and have no idea the struggles some have just to get by.

one thing I do not like is the justice system and how the death penalty is weighted heavy against the black community.

if a white guy kills a black guy he most likely will not get the chair but a black guy kills a white guy you can almost put your house on it he is going to fry.

same with some of the policing of communities its almost like a warzone.

I understand drugs are a big problem and so are guns.

im a gun owner and have the right to shoot a sub machine gun when I go out there.

the only weapon I cannot get is a glock 17 and 18 full auto because these are now only available to secret service or bodyguards from what I believe and these hand guns will fire 1200 rounds a minute.

but I can get a sniper rifle which will kill nearly 2 miles away. crazy laws.

if you go to south central LA you need a gun and a flak jacket. it was gun shot after shot and gangs running the streets.

but here is the thing. South central LA where all the trouble happens is only about 20 miles from Beverly hills.

the haves and the have nots in such a close proximity.

I will say this though. it is an amazing country and I love many parts of it and the people ive met

As a British citizen, I couldn't pass comment on any other country.

After the last few years, it'd feel like lobbing a boulder straight through my glass wall.

I used to go over there regularly to visit family for summers or Christmas and they’re generally really great. A bit obsessed with money and private ownership for me but still great. I have not been back in a while because I feel as though it’s a bit scary and I don’t know how safe I’d feel there. Which my mum said was utterly ridiculous and is probably exacerbated by social media but yeah

It's not as simple as saying this area is full of clever people and that area if full of stupid people. American is a divided country and has all sorts of people all over the place. Some of what goes on there seems extraordinary to outsiders. Their views on money, religion, race and various other things are wildly different to many in Europe.

I'm reminded of the title of John Sopel's book "If only they didn't speak English". We think that because they speak essentially the same language as us that we tend to think they would think the same too. If they spoke a completely different language to us it would be easier for us to understand that they are extremely different.

Their views on race are built upon European ideas

True, if you limit the pool to America. Jnr was ‘Most Popular Driver’ 15 years on the bounce.

I was born there, we left shortly after reagan was elected. Still have a lot of family there. I understand now why my parents left. Its nice to visit, but I don't think I could live there now. Americans are lovely, America isn't.

I get your point, however the West and East coast cultures are more British / European in outlook than the masses in the centre where they have more in common with religious intolerance than they care to admit.

On gun ownership, I equate that to the level of dildos ownership here. Some have none and hate lockdown, while others own one through to multiple Doxy’s. I’ve never seen a mass killing by dildo battering

Moral of the story, buy more dildos
