I struggled for awhile because I'm in a small flat, not ground floor, and my downstairs neighbour works in A&E so I'm not interested in being a dick right now (if ever).

I've got a resistance band and an exercise mat and am doing mostly bodyweight exercises, some at pace to get my heart rate up a bit. I keep intending to get a running habit, but one I hate it and two there's too many people out there

As of today I started going back out for a jog (I wouldn't call it a run). Aiming to do 5k several times a week. My friend is doing online yoga classes and they've been so helpful - my mind and body feel a lot better after them.

I've tried the Joe Wicks classes a few times but it really hurts . I'm also doing the 30 day squat challenge but that's more because I want to be better at cowgirl rather than fitness reasons! I'm keeping an eye out for what others are doing because I need to step it up a bit and not lose motivation. At the same time, it's hard right now so cutting myself some slack.

Honestly, my one non movable goal is "do a thing 5-6 days a week". Anything else is a bonus.

You're better running than I am, it's not my forte at all.

Most of what I'm doing is as close to a full body workout as I can manage on a mat without impact or weights. I'm sure I'm missing things but it's something.

I have to force myself to the gym during normal times, so it's not easy. Nonetheless I have a 30 minutes video based workout I do every day, and weights every other day, just to slow the decline.

I won't run outside as you are just a mass spreader if you have it..

That's part of my concern, but if I don't do some proper cardio or get out of my flat I'll lose my mind. It's all a cost/ benefit analysis, and mental health is a factor to consider too. I go a few times a week, avoid parks, cross the road to avoid people, etc.

Bicep curls, shoulder press, and lateral raises (Google for technique) with DIY weights (improvise, maybe start with a can of soup in each hand). Pushups if you can manage, including modified (knees down), and you don't have to do many.

Your goal is a good one and also you're being really considerate of your neighbour while working out. That must be tricky. Doing something is definitely better than nothing, I fully agree with your sentiment.

Like with going outside and risking spreading stuff, it's a cost/benefit thing. Sometimes my mental health gets on top of me, although that's improving. Ultimately being active helps my mental health, but on bad days something like "three squats" is better than nothing, and I reserve the right to go fuck it on really terrible days.

Doing Joe Wicks with kids every day. Though I had some slacking days last week. Planking challenge someone posted and really enjoying it as always thought my arms were weak. So pleasantly surprised. I need to get out more for walks again but people not following social distancing rules drive me mad... so I return slightly snappy home. Got an exercise app and that is something I need to step up with. Tried yoga with Adrienne too.. but that didn't take off. Need to kick myself harder. A new dress arrived and I want to remain same size to show it off after this is all over

Does dancing like mad from time to time counts? And trampoline with kids ?

Thank you I do have weights. Our son left them behind when he moved out 11 years ago, I knew they'd come in handy for something more than holding the door open. I have been doing push ups against the wall.

Thanks to an active life and the swimming I'm pretty fit (although if you're comparing me to Madonna I'm not ) it's just that I've relied on my daily activities rather than organised exercise.

I've written your suggestions down to Google. I've also seen some stuff on the Saga web site... Oh that it should come to having to admit that

I am losing weight, only a little bit each week but it's something.

I think I must have been eating so much when I was out and about that although I feel like I'm eating loads it is still less than before.

I need to start exercising now to try and target my mum tum. It's tricky at the moment because I'm working from home and I've got 2 little ones. I'm being furloughed in a week so I'm hoping that'll give me some time to do something.

I’m recovering from a foot injury but slowly building up to 5k runs every other day and hope to do 5k everyday soon.

Bodyweight routines, exercises... I really really wish I had an olympic bar, but I’m not willing to pay £100+ for one. I am making do with goblet squats with a 10kg kettlebell...

I fell off the wagon for most of the initial 3 weeks and went up 2 sizes. My clothes don’t fit. That got my arse into gear!

You can use the resistance bands as a Tabata session. This is a form high intensity training and it will raise your heart rate and burn calories.

If you don’t know, a Tabata exercise is 20 seconds of training followed by 10 seconds rest repeated 8 times. Each exercise lasts 4 minutes. It is good to wait a minute between starting another exercise. You can download timers to manage the session

Started a 30 day Ab challenge which is a mixture of sit ups, crunches, leg raises & planks. This increases steadily and has rest days built in. Have added in just 10 (per leg) lunges.

I’ve been doing the exercise in the morning when I get up to see Ian off, but I’ll admit I go back to bed afters.

Want to work on stomach as want to treat myself to new corset when this is all over!

Also going on the WiiFit for fun and occasionally doing my 1 hr walk.

Miss my swimming the most.

Toilet needs won (!) so now up & showered and Ian putting on dinner. Will defo do walk tonight with my headphones to listen to music.

Think the pressure of trying to keep busy got to me today; although I’ve had small wins. X

Trying to do something every day. I was in gym 5 days a week doing cardio and heavy weights. Finding it ok to stay on top of my fitness.

Out with kids playing tennis, football etc too. Daily run if I can. Went for a 15k cycle at weekend. Bought a few kettlebells before lockdown thank god. They keep my weights ticking over.

I'm definitely of the "do something" mindset. It's not a competition, it's not a bragging thing, it's just keeping up a hobby or health or both.

"I’m knackered after a long yawn"

I'm no doctor but that could be symptomatic of something medically wrong ?

You are eating ok ? Drinking it's been warm. I assume you're social distancing thus zero chance of cov-sars2

My friend needed to go on thyroid medication? You're not drinking too much alcohol?? Its suggested 420 makes a person tired??

Stay safe ring 111 if it continues

Lot's of cycling during lockdown, gotten quite addicted!

77km on Wednesday which was my longest ever And did 46 today. Think I'll re do that one tomorrow as it had lovely views.

Strava is a gift and a curse haha

Lucky I live on flat countryside, although when I do hit a hill it's a shock to the system!

"I did a Fitness Marshall dance routine, it was a challenge set by my dance teacher, 30 hours of practice and then videod it for her. Now I’m walking an hour a day but people don’t respect social distance so I’m open to suggestions on what to do in a small house.

How small is small? Aerobics? Exercise mat and bodyweight exercises?

Star jumps? "

Just around the corner

I’ve started running again after about a year off, and the Forum plank challenge of course.

I’m already feeling the benefit. I’m eating less snacks and sweets, and exercising much more than I was before so I’ve lost about a stone since lockdown started.

Glasgow

Joined a gym last year after losing 3.5 stone to get toned and raise my fitness levels and will admit that I am missing the routine and dare I say the motivation of being in the gym.

So reverted back to walking for physical and mental fitness but also watched a couple of programmes on the BBC - The truth about .....

These were very informative. Basically 3 x 10 mins of brisk walking per day is better than 10000 step.

Also HIIT training is excellent way.

Also they showed that there was no difference in training with heavy or light weights if you increased the amount of reps with the lightweights till your arm got tired. All done scientifically.

The main problem for me is the motivation!

Nothing has really changed for me under lockdown, as I do all my exercises at home anyway. I have a 12kg kettlebell, and a pair of 10kg dumbbells, and an adjustable bench. Most of what I do is body weight exercises, and concentrate on core work to keep the dreaded middle-aged spread at bay! I usually do a 5k Parkrun on a Saturday morning, but as they’re not being run right now, I have a nice 5.4k loop around our village, which I’m actually doing twice per week right now, so hoping for a new Parkrun pb when we resume!

I find training in the mornings works best, for me anyway ,l'm fresh after a good night's sleep and it sets me up for the day ahead ,l stick mostly to my own routine that l have been for years, skipping ,leg stances ,leg raises, stretching , stomach, arm dips ,.. everything using own body weight as much as possible ,approx 30/40 mins sessions, just to get the heart pumping and drop a bit of sweat ,it's something l've always loved doing and always look forward to cause it's invigorating and great for mental health too which is so important

Foot injury getting better... managed 3x 5k runs this week. Added a bit of work with some light weights and kettlebells I have at home.

I was thinking of investing in some TRX straps- does anyone on here use them? I used to have a PT who used to rave about them, but at £107 they seem a bit steep...

Ooooh, I need a cheerleader right now..

It took me the first week of lockdown to fall out of a daily gym routine. Then the next to start trying to put one together at home.

I'm struggling with cardio at the moment. I'll try running again but haven't been able to do that in a decade, due to spinal issues.

Stay safe all.
