Struggling right now

Just this morning packed up my stuff and moved out of a relationship of 16 years, been on and off for a couple of years while ive suffered with mental illness. This afternoon i feel like the whole world is collapsing in, got bitten in the summer while previously back at my parents by someone i met frequently over a few months, even with her telling me she had fallen for me and me catching feelings too, yet her being married. Then being scared her feelings for me may get in the way of her family life, not long been back intouch to find she moved on to a more physical arrangement as she says but still has feelings and thinks about me a lot, more or less straight after we cooled things. Now my relationship is over all though like i said its been on the cards for a while due to my illness. Just cant see through the fog at the minute and am really struggling this afternoon, feel like my world is collapsing around me.

I say this without the the slightest hint of a joke and from a sympathetic point of view.

You’re still alive.

Consider what you have and not what you’ve lost.

I struggled to follow this but I am sending you strength my guy. I have been in a real hole of late as well. Make sure you’ve got somewhere safe to be and my advice is to use this time to work on yourself. It will hurt a lot but you have got this man. If you ever want to chat, I am happy to as I’m sure lots of others on here are too.

As some one that had suffered from various mental health issues I applaud you for speaking up. Rem_mber the ABC model, A-Accept that you have an issue, it’s good that you’ve done that. B-Bravery, be brave enough to be willing to confront the issue. C-Communication, ensure you speak to the correct people don’t suffer alone.

Finally try to look after yourself as much as you can in this current climate, ensure you get out for some fresh air or fitness everyday, eat healthy, stay off the the booze...There is no ‘big’ win, just lots of little victories...Stay strong my man.

It is hard, your head and heart are battling each other over things you can't really control.

Mental health is a terrible thing to live with i know and some days are always going to be better than others.

Take one day at a time but keep yourself busy, it will slowly get better

Relationships are hard to manage when you're also trying to manage yourself. Return to yourself OP. Take this opportunity for a pause. Small steps, do what nourishes you x

Firstly deep slow breathing.

Get that pulse rate down a bit.

Now.

Your priority is you,and only you.

Forget everything else.

Health matters now that is partly mental.

Are you eating properly? Because that is important to do so.

Even if you feel like not eating get some chocolate to nibble on.

Write yourself down a daily routine as you need a structure to work from.

Can be simple to start with and it should begin with you waking up.

So you wake up and brush teeth, shower etc whatever it is write it down.

A routine or structure is like programming the mind so you have purpose.

Build your daily routine and stick to it until you feel able to edit it and move forward bit by bit.

Don't over complicate things keep it simple.

And whatever you do.

Don't stay in bed and rot!.

Good luck.

Hi , been in exactly the same position as you, got involved with a married lady who done all the chasing, treated me like a right little lapdog had to start with I wasn't in the best of places when I met her, know each other from school and then years later got together on Facebook which I am now no longer on, took me quite a while to realise what was going on but really screwed me up big time and I struggled for quite awhile, was under the doctors for severe depression , what time it was great with her,but she just made it worse in the end ,,,, all you can do is try and rem_mber the good times and try not to get too down about it and just try and start your life again, there's people out there who can help and you may be like me and not want to burden your physical friends with any of this but there's plenty of people on here who would probably give you a good chat and try and help you out I for one would try and chat if you want massive massive man hugs, and here if you do want to chat

I feel for you dude but I’m a great believer in everything happens for a reason. Look beyond how long you’ve been with the person, if I felt niggles I couldn’t stay if it didn’t feel right. It’ll hurt like a bastard now but time will heal you x you sound like a great guy x

Walked out on my marriage , 9 years ago , we'd been together since 1991 , I had my breakdown I was obviously seeing people and my ex-wife was a lot of my problems so had to get out of that relationship but got straight into the relationship I just previously described and that just screwed me up more, I'm good now and life is a lot better I have my up-and-down days but believe me I was in a mess don't mind admitting it on here because I don't care what other people think about me I was in hospital a few times for obvious reasons but I've come through the other end now

You are your world. The building material. The architect and the construction worker. Whatever collapsed you will shove it to the side and start rebuilding. Let the dust settle.. be kind to yourself and start a new life project. X
