Always amazes me, what with the panic buying stupidity, the robberies and then this..in the last week our beautiful wild moorlands have been set ablaze by arsonists..3 times..and when I say ablaze I mean wildfire that ancient god of mythology that eats everything voraciously..it tied up the fire crews for miles around. A few years back we had a whole season of arson induced fires that left miles of our wilderness areas black...crazy!

They are scum.

There is no thought process there, that a sane individual could understand.

Its reprehensible.

Mold

And after a month of near dryness, it doesn't take much to set them alight

We've reported several instances of people having barbecues and makeshift fires whilst out and about

Same here as I work closer with the natural world than human..actually don't work at all with human world. The ground will replenish but sadly once a creature is gone..it's gone

Panic buying is pure stupidity, and you can't fix stupid, robbery is pure opportunistic and, unfortunately, the arson boredom and parents not enforcing the current situation... There is a certain section of the community that feel laws and regulations don't apply to them, these people do what they like when they like and allow their children to do the same....

Delightful Bliss

It is not excusable but pyromania is a mental health impulsive control disorder, reasonably common in bi polar and schizophrenic patients,

Add that to the ignorant seasonal bbq cockwombles and I fear it will be worse this year without social help being readily available to patients

Lots of anti social behaviour going on. They blame it on people being bored.

I blame it on the parents.

They failed!

Mold

There's a particular problem in the South Wales valleys, where it seems to be an annual sport

The bored, disaffected seem to take delight in fire setting on the moorlands.

So true as are many other bad characterisations...some are illnesses no matter how bad, and that's coming from a victim.
