So many people mis-use the English language because mobile phones have given people a laziness. Your and you’re are one of sample. We’re and were is another. And the lack of a comma, full stop and apostrophe is also an atrocity in many people’s typing.

But it is what it is, and it doesn’t reflect intelligence in our opinion as it is often simply a case of rushing the comment down. I think we have all been guilty of poor spelling and grammar a fair few times.

It surely wouldn’t stop us fucking someone hot if they missed a comma.

Here’s a great example of two massively different sentences that only have a comma to differentiate them...

“When are we going to eat people?”

“When are we going to eat, people?”

You should read the messages or posts that have no full stops no commas no punctuation and you try to decipher what the hell they are on about but you can’t get your head around it because you don’t know where the sentence started and where it finishes especially when they’re writing a story that’s a long read and you don’t know if you’re meant to read it all in one breath or in little chucks but you make do by creating your own punctuations for that person so that it all makes sense.

Yeah, that bugs me.

I am terrible for this. I’m fairly well educated and work in a world where it is very important. But I have become reliant on autocorrect picking up mistakes.

Fortunately for me I have accidentally recruited an incredibly attractive fab teacher who picks me up on all of my many mistakes. Slowly improving!

Oh and I totally get it. It’s speed over accuracy. Hell, I did it in that post. Autocorrect did me in and I’d not checked before posting lol. As I say, I don’t believe it’s related directly to education or intellect. I believe it’s the age we live in, whereby we are all rushing on these tiny little virtual keyboards and making mistakes or, in some cases, just not concerning ourselves with it.

Honestly I’m more interested in the ideas and sentiments and thoughts expressed, rather than the author’s ability to type/write. If I met someone other than through an online platform there would be no spellcheck filter, because it’s irrelevant in terms of whether they are a good/kind/fun/sexy person. So I don’t allow it to colour my judgement in messages either. When people ask me what I look for in a lover, correct use of an apostrophe would come pretty close to the bottom of the list
