So.. a guy on come dine with me travelled a 700 mile round trip for crab for one of his dishes

700 miles!! I was left thinking I hope that crab weren't off!

I digress, it got me thinking, just how far would you go to win?

Personally, I'd have made it to Morrisons maybe.

The shops in the local area can provide pretty much anything we’d wish for as ingredients so I wouldn’t have to travel more than 10 miles. But I wouldn’t want to give my guests crabs so no need to travel for them

We once drove a 340 mile round trip to Skipton to get pork pies for Christmas. We assumed it closed at 5pm, got there at five to four to discover they were starting to close. Thankfully they let us in and we left with our bounty.

I'm a bit competitive sometimes...

I'd travel as far as Booths (so about half hour!). I think that sometimes you really want something and nothing else would be suitable. I once drove a good 90 odd miles for a particular cake for my partner's birthday.

I sometimes have a drive from Cheltenham to a little shop in Oxford for tea (loose leaf). That's only about 50 miles though.

Depends on the prize surly ?

And winning is subjective

I'd walk 25 000 miles backwards for the right incentive x

There and to the left a bit

I've been known to do a 60 odd mile round trip for fish and chips at a particular chippy that is excellent

Distance doesn't have to be a problem if the purpose of travelling is worth it

I can’t think of such an incentive, by the time you’d walked it, you’d be too old to benefit from it.

Are Skipton Pork Pies a thing? I’ve always associated them with Melton Mowbray.
