Is there one thing in life you’ve really wanted to achieve but it is hard to achieve, or is there something in life you’ve really wanted to achieve but not tried very hard?

(Read that slowly, it’s a bit wordy but makes sense)

Which one?

What is it?

Why?

One day I'd love to get my PhD - I know where I want to go, all the details. Sadly life happens and it's not so feasible currently. Hopefully in a few years I'll be able to do so.

I've always wanted to do my Padi dive course, but kept putting it off and 10 years have managed to disappear.

One day

My family are all multi-lingual and for me it’s a real challenge. I really struggle with it.

My piano skills are pretty rusty because I just don’t ever practice. I’d love to be able to play better than I do but I don’t put in the effort

Oh and why? Because I love academia and the chance to delve even further in to my passion would be an absolute dream come true. It's a rather selfish wish I know but it makes me incredibly happy.

It’s not selfish to be happy.

Very. We were starting to save up, then we got married and spent it on that instead.

And we got into a lot of debt when I had my first miscarriage and surgery as I was off work for months with depression, and only got stat sick pay. We’re doing a trust deed and doing well, it’ll be cleared in two years now.

Buuuuuut I’m now a stay at home mum. So there goes my income.

Oh bless you. Its honestly such a struggle to save that amount of money even without all that. We've looked into shared ownership which seems more achievable.

"I tried and failed to get my PhD."

I almost failed my masters, I was sooo bored, I started my first business when I was at uni and enjoyed that more. I think we achieve the things that really matter to us and we are excited and passionate about - careers, children, relationships, loving homes , the rest are just nice ideas - base jumping, flamenco guitar, swimming the channel....

Being a soldier, I always wanted to do it but in my younger years thought you had to be some kind of olympic athlete as well as I was worried about getting bullied by scary blokes. Joined in my early 30's so I have achieved it, but wish I'd done it after leaving school!

I’d love to have done something in Physics, maybe even as a career; certainly at least one degree in that field, maybe more.

It’s the only thing I’ve never lost interest in, in terms of hobbies and the like.

I shot my chances down when I didn’t take A-Level Maths at Sixth Form College, though.

To have completed my practical part of my instructor course completed the theory but then a car accident postponed the first assessment and my knee operations the second assessment. So now I would need to start it all over again. If I had just pushed myself after car accident I could of done it but now after knee operations no chance
