I believe that the "angry" cyclists that cause so much venom from drivers are a direct result if how "many" drivers treat them.

As a driver I never get sworn at or rude hand signals from cyclists, mainly because I'm not in a rush to overtake them. If it isn't safe to leave 6 foot and overtake, I will wait till there is. I don't assume an imaginary right of way because "I pay road-tax" or get annoyed because it might take me 30 seconds longer to get to the next red light.

As a cyclist, I do use the cycle lanes when they're suitable. They are there to "aid" cyclists though and are not compulsory. What I won't do is dismount at every junction or roundabout as many cycle paths instruct us to do... if I wanted to be a pedestrian, I would wear sensible shoes.

Road and mountain bike. Prefer mountain bike but it’s easier to keep my fitness up on my road bike.

I keep thinking about buying a decent mountain bike, but every time I look at one I get annoyed by how heavy it is.

Im a Road Cyclist, I live rurally so i’m use to quiet yet bumpy roads. Of course I get the odd bit of abuse from a passing motorist, but its dealt with quickly by a two fingered salute and a fuck off you knob head salutation.

The world is full if Dickheads, some ride bikes some drive vehicles.

Luckily there are more non-Dickheads in life to tip the scales in the right direction.

Its just one of them things.

What I would say is that, if there were no Dickheads there would also be no Non-Dickheads.

So in reality we all need each other.

Stay safe

I’d guess my MTB is 3/4 times the weight of my roadie but my road bike is carbon.

My best road bike is so light, I have to sit in it to stop it floating away, but a mountain bike, I'd need help to pick it up if I fall off (which I will)

What bikes have everyone got?

I’ve got a

Giant TCR Advanced with disc brakes for the road

Giant Anthem 2 27.5 for off road.

Considering a cyclocross bike too at the end of the year.

Orbea Occam 29 off road and my pride in joy is my dads Motobecane from 1981 that I had refurbished with modern parts but keeping the retro look, it is an absolute joy to ride. Quite fancy a new road bike or a gravel bike as a commuter

That sucks. I had 3 bikes stolen a few years ago in the same night.

Giant Defy 2 which I did the 2014 London 100 on

Giant Trance 1 which is my favourite bike I’ve owned

Giant Trinity triathlon bike that I’d only had a month.

I used to live about a mile from the Giant store in Liverpool.

Cycling is keeping me sane atm, main bike is a Carrera TDF ltd and I have an old school Rayliegh team banana for when I might not be just on the road.

Until recently I never realised how annoying motorists get when they can break the speed limit because you in the way.

There's no bragging, just discussing.

I don't understand why so many motorists are so Anti bike... if they were in their cars, the traffic would be so much worse. My bike never gets stuck in a traffic jam.

So I'm back on my ol' faithful a 1998 GT Avalanche.
