Who has fond memories of this childhood activity if you experienced it?

Do you do this with your children if you have them and how much do they enjoy it?

Never had one as a kid.

However its taken mine well over an hour to find theirs! a perfect way to make them happy and have a little peace!

Yes, we write out clues for them to find the hidden eggs, it keeps them amused for a while and they love it.

It’s something that wasn’t done when I was a kid. I’ve done this with the lad for 4-5 years (both indoors and outdoors) he called an end to it as for little kids haha

I spent hours last night writing clues and riddles and hid them in little plastic eggs around our home and garden. She was up at 5.30 very excited that the Easter Bunny had been. Bit strange doing it with just the 2 of us but she enjoyed it all the same. X

No and no.

Their dad does it though as it’s something he was brought up with and i let him have that as i get to do all the other magical things at Christmas etc.

Personally I used to just wake up and find 14 easter eggs on the sideboard and got told they were mine

My eldest loved it, the littlest used to complain about it because not only die it involved exercise, he is a lifelong cynic querying everything.

I rem_mber him saying to his brother "Michael, she is scamming you, Rabbits don't lay eggs, chickens do so why did the rabbit leave them?"

It was, his strategy was watch his brother collect all the eggs, then make his brother feel guilty for having all the eggs and then get half anyway

We do one for our two every year. Youngest is 7 and I think this is the last year she will believe in the Easter bunny although I am sure they will still be wanting us to do them.

We were still printing the clues and setting it up at midnight last night but totally worth it for the excitement this morning

I didn’t have one as a child either. Don’t think many did. It’s like elf on the shelf and Xmas eve boxes. Never had any of that!

S did a modified hunt for our 3yo today because we only had mini eggs! He hid her toy bunnies round the garden and she got a mini egg for every one she found and then her "big" Easter Cadbury bunny when she'd found them all. She loved it and sent him out hiding them 3 more times until he'd run out of places

Its weird when you realise they aren't little any more. I look at my 17yo son/man now, and it makes me a bit sad that he's all grown up, in a weird way. Then I look at the wonderful chap he's become, and I'm dead proud of him. Getting weepy now

The egg hunt is one of my happiest memories as a child. I used to love it and be so excited when I found them.

There was always one or two that I'd find in summer that got missed.

Last night I went out at 10.30 and left floury bunny footprints and eggs in the gardens on my lane and for my friends' children.

I rem_mber Easter egg hunts as a child, it used to take me and my brother a while to find them all as I grew up on a farm so there were lots of hiding places!

I have just done one for my boys this afternoon. However, it seems I underestimated their intelligence to solve the clues and also their destructiveness as they tore the house apart to find them!

It's something that never happened growing up and as such something I never did with my own child. Saying that he spent most Easter holidays with his dad so they may have done them there. He would always come back with a fair few eggs.

It's a shame really as our childhood garden was massive and could have been brilliant.
