a quandary, could you change my mind?

Since the virus hit Europe I've been deleting all messages on a regular basis across all message apps and albums, it is something I've not done before or thought about. Makes me a bit sad not being able to read back through some of these messages and pictures of memories.

It bothers me that I dont know who will end up looking through them if I don't.

So to the very technically minded of you, is there an easy way on an Android phone to make this happen if the pin is used incorrectly "x" number of times and also on a laptop?

Why would it bother you? If they are nice to read back through, just keep them.

Not something I'd want to share with others.

O so true, however I'm a very private person and the thought of "I dont know who reading through the messages doesn't feel right"

You could use an app like find my phone and see if it has a remote wipe option and give this to a friend for future use?

You can have the phone locked on failed attempts by theres ways around it.

But then it's on the cloud likely anyway sooo still available

Umm. No, its amazing that because I'm male there is that presumption!

So you would be quite happy for your family and friends to be aware of both of your private lives would you, remember if one of you contacted the virus living in close proximity there is a high chance you both will get it.

It's about my children sister parents. The messages are private and I want them to remain as that.

Instead of a technical solution, what about a 'designated friend'? Someone who you trust and who will take charge of your tech if something happens, and wipe/destroy it to protect your privacy.

Yes there is but I cannot remember the name of the app right now (sorry) You will still need a digital executor so to speak, that can remotely wipe your phone.

There may also be the option with some custom android roms to wipe your phone after so many unsuccessful PIN entries.

If you use encrypted messaging like SIGNAL and set messages to delete after a time period, then none of this is a problem
