Does it say they have pics of you and a password by chance?

"Does it say they have pics of you and a password by chance?"

That old chestnut, probably one of the most convincing scams I’ve seen via email. Dread to think how many it has worked on

Not sure. I got a similar message yesterday. Have deleted it.

Depends where it was sent from as to how far back you can trace.

To answer your question.

Yea you can trace emails but you wont get back to sender just all the servers it hit and a masked IP

So pointless.

Anywhere you use said password change and reset.

It's just a scam they have nothing but a email/password database they bought and bombed it out.

It’s a well known scam that’s been around for a while.

From what I’ve read in the past (I got the same email) old password can be purchased on databases or something along those lines which is how they get hold of it.

Report it and delete it would be the best bet.

Yeah, had one like that too.

“We’ve got you on cam wanking to porn and we’ll send it to everyone in your address book”.

Deleted it, it’s a scam.

Cheers. I knew it was a scam and it's of an old password, but still disconcerting.

You can actually report it to anyone unless you report the email address to spam email companies but they will use another.

I've reported it as spam.

My initial reaction was to tell the twat to send it to my contacts so that they could enjoy the porn too

People will fall for it... but then they likely wouldn't be the ones with bitcoin

I had one recently and they've updated it.
