I think "white knight" is often used by guys as an insult to try and gain advantage of their own or to justify their own opinions just because someone has disagreed with them.

It's a term often thrown at me when I give an opinion on here that may side with one of the ladies - and is water off a ducks back to me because I believe in my opinion and don't state it as a means to an end in the slightest.

Agree though that there are *some* who very deliberately do so, but more often than not they're fairly transparent in their real intentions.

Actually F&B's brogue pic is different - he's in some sort of church and has stripy socks in the pic. The guy here is on a wooden floor, no visible socks. A white knight is a man whom thinks by not agreeing whith the majority will get him a lot of woman pawning over him by saying “aww yes” your right. Agreeing with the masses "

That is the *actual* definition - the point being made though was that it is often thrown out as an insult when it doesn't actually apply, and usually by guys who disagree with the supposed white knight who is in fact just being a decent and respectful person and has no ulterior motive in his actions.

As I said further up it's an accusation often levelled at me and is water off a ducks back as I *know* that my intent is honourable

A white knight is a man whom thinks by not agreeing whith the majority will get him a lot of woman pawning over him by saying “aww yes” your right. Agreeing with the masses

That is the *actual* definition - the point being made though was that it is often thrown out as an insult when it doesn't actually apply, and usually by guys who disagree with the supposed white knight who is in fact just being a decent and respectful person and has no ulterior motive in his actions.

As I said further up it's an accusation often levelled at me and is water off a ducks back as I *know* that my intent is honourable "

Everything about this " white Knight " craic is like everything in life , opinion....there are those that say White Nights are guys that will ALWAYS agree with a lady's opinion or defend her opinion against others attacks on her opinion just to get laid with her ...then there are those that say White Knights are people that just give their honest opinion and its only a coincidence that it looks like they're delibertly defending the lady to Impress her this leading to the getting laid part ...sounds complicated but it's not ...but the white Knight in which ever format he's viewed in ,just wants to get laid .
