Veet

We have both been using veet for about 10 years now. We always use the sensitive one as well.

Hubby had a shower then applied the veet as normal and waited 7 mins (he sets his stoowatch) he felt a slight tingle when he put it on and that was it.

He went in the shower and then shouted for me so I went up and asked what he wanted. The site he showed me looked like 2 peeled plum tomatoes fresh out the can.

Honestly the pain he was in and the look of them was horrible.

3 days later he is still in pain and has to be careful how he moves and when i feel them so nasty.

Has anyone else had a reaction like this after using a product for so long

Yes I used the same hair remover on my upper lip for ages and suddenly had a reaction to it. Nowadays I wax it

I've always been wary of using even the sensitive one. Heard quite a few people say it's like their balls were burning for days. So I've always just stuck to shaving them. Hope he feels better soon!

Oh god your poor hubby has my sympathies. This brought tears to my eyes. I just use an all over body trimmer down there. Not as close but works for me

Yes seen the reviews. Especially the one with the ice cream and sprout.

He will be sticking to shaving now too.

Just strange after 10 years of using it the first time it's reacted this way

To be fair, I have (and would) only use a razor on my undercarriage.

I can control a Gillette, I can’t control a chemical reaction.

I found it way too harsh for my skin and my legs felt sore for days, just epilate now and it lasts a lot longer. So be very careful.

It could be a grey import that has a slightly different ingredient.

It is also possible that something else has happened within the body that in turn has caused a reaction to something that you have always used.

Yes I find using a wet towel to wipe off the veet and then have a shower. If I use a shower to clean the veet it makes my skin red.

Try any allergy tablets. He likely had an allergick reaction to what ever they are putting into it now.

Apply some burn cream. Anything cold will help too

I had the same on my underarms and bikini line OP, had used it on and off for years too. I won't touch it now as the chemical burns from it were really painful.

I have a similar experience.

I'd been using the veet sensative for women for a few months with no worries.

Then I used it again after 6-ish weeks & after approximately ½ the usual application time I started to experience a burning.

So I rinsed it off quickly.

I ended up with blistering & raw patches in the crevices between my thighs & pubic hair area.

Uncomfortable for around 2 weeks as it healed.

Note: veet is not meant to be use on your private parts. Only on your body.

I'm wondering if they changed the formula?

He has a chemical burn by the sound of it. Try using sudocrem to ease the pain, it is exactly right for this kind of thing.

In future, try nair sensitive, it's much better than veet on sensitive areas x

It's perhaps worth contacting the manufacturer, in case there's a problem with a batch of it. If you bought it recently, they may be able to recall it.

I once used Veet before visiting a Fab house party with a friend. I must of left it on too long. I had to take a tube of Calamine lotion to apply in the toilet at regular intervals. I was pleased there was naughtiness that night. Lol.

A friend of mine got burns from veet, they have not used it since.

I only ever use a razor and no nasty shaved rash either

You can become allergic to anything at anytime.

Even after using it for years.

Just don't use it again!

Read the Amazon review just to make light of an ouchy situation
