Post a song that makes you sad. It's ok. It will be cleansing to shed a tear or allow yourself to feel nostalgic or melancholic. Just for the duration of the song.

With You sung by Sam Bailey.

It gets me everytime as reminds me of a soldier I met. We had a very intense few meets and then he was sent to Canada and lost touch last year. I flipping miss him.

Always loved this song anyway - but it moved me to tears last time I saw the band at a time just before Xmas when my Mum had been in and out of hospital and the lyrics just resonated in a different way from normal:

Stone sour- Zzyzx Rd

https://youtu.be/7p2Zfkx3C8Y

For those not familiar with stone sour, their singer is also the lead singer for Slipknot. But the style of voice for this band is totally different- no screaming and if you’re not into metal, you’ll be able to understand what he’s saying haha. This is one of my go to songs when I’m feeling blue.

Somewhere

Alfie Boe singing “Bring Him Home” has me crying like I’ve never known. Hits that button everytime. Every single time.

I guess I listen to too much sadness and melancholy. I can’t just choose one.

This proper makes your heart ache ...

The Antlers “Kettering”

https://youtu.be/otx49Ko3fxw

This is so desperately sad no matter how you look at it ...

Sufan Stevens “John Wayne Gacy Jr”

https://youtu.be/otx49Ko3fxw

And this, well, abuser to child, it’s gut wrenching ...

Morrisey “It’s Not Your Birthday Anymore”

https://youtu.be/u-MqnqwK7Qc

I’ll stop now.

I'm so sorry. I have one song my dad tried to teach me to play on his guitar. It always gives me a painful squeeze.. x
