"Now, as a old fart, these days should be far behind me - but they're not. They're getting heavier and so much more painful. And, just now, I cant even get out to get anything so, ladies, anyone have any none medicinal tricks. This is how bad - I usually take 3 mfenamic acid tablets 3 times a day - to take the edge (only) off!!! Mine were unbearable. I went on the mini pill 2 years ago and haven’t had one since. I’m 48 and I smoke. It’s safe as it’s not a combined pill x" My partner was pretty much the same as Nora; was painful till she went on the pill and then it was fine. She was in her 40s too. Hope it works out for you

"I (her) had polycystic ovary syndrome and thankfully had a hysterectomy almost 5 years ago.... best thing that happened for me. My periods were irregular but extremely painful and extremely heavy. I often wasn't able to get out of bed or if I could it would just be to lay down somewhere else such as sofa. A hot water bottle eased it, and also putting a pillow between my knees if laying on my side, it lifts the hip and eases the strain on the pelvic muscles. I feel so sorry for anyone going through this pain, it's not very pleasant at all. I hope it passes soon for you OP. X" Another PCOS sufferer here. I'm on prescribed painkillers during it but try and refrain from taking them - orgasms do help take the edge off slightly. Yoga helps as well, as does eating bananas and chocolate. Buscopan is something that was suggested to me recently and it helps a lot. I hope you're doing a bit better OP, x

I've suffered like this since I was 13 so I really do understand. I find hot water bottles or pads the best thing... but also try to take my pain killers staggered.. ie take them every 4 hours but take one lot at 7.. the 2nd at 9... ( different ones) I'm on the mini pill to supposedly lighten them... they do a bit but not a lot

Totally natural and works. Google it to gather information and take from there. I get mine from Amazon, company called Lucy bee
