Honest opinion? Why worry about what others might think or want and go with what you are comfortable and happy with?

You'll likely get a 50/50 response of "I love it/Ewww no shave it" but why pander to others?

Personally I can appreciate either and it's the owner of the bush/not bush that interests me not their foliage

Not sure I'm a fan of the "Grass Hopper" look though!!!

To be honest, I would welcome a lady (sorry about the next bit it's a bit in the vein of "Carry On.... ), with a nice hairy "Growler". Phwaaaaaaaa!
