No. You're thinking of the 3rd gen that was produced between 1982 & 1992. Mine is a 4th gen

It's certainly not a cheap car to keep on the road with some pretty costly design flaws.

In general I think BMW's real talent lies in the inline 6. They really excel at those. I have a BMW V8 but more out of the sake of scratching an itch, there are many better V8s out there, GM and Merc included. But the E38 platform is so sweet and arguably the V8 is a nicer thing to drive than the V12.

I knew about the problems so I had an idea it won’t be plain sailing but once you could pick one up for the same price as mondeo I had to have one and once I test drive one I knew I had to have it 507bhp for mondeo money always wished they’d of done a manual version apparently in America they did but not in Europe still for me one of the best engines ever no silly turbos or super chargers like the amg mercs

When I lived in Australia I had a Ford Boss XR8. 5.7ltr v8 with a flash tuned 554 rear wheel bhp and 520 Nm of torque. Just the sound through the cherry bombs would have any Beemer M5 wetting his panties lol.

It’s not all about dresses in my life, my major passion is motorcycles. Currently have a VFR800 but ridden all sorts of bikes from 2 strokes (my personal favourites) to triples, four stokes and v twins. I’ve managed to ride some classics over the years, a bike and an empty rode then I’m a happy sod

In terms of drag racing and technology it’s anything but irrelevant.

Like it or not, the likes of Tesla will redefine technology during our lifetime.

I’m in the same boat right now, sensible dad that will fit everything in the back and climb the hills around me whilst covered in snow.

I’ve been thinking about getting something cheap that’d be great fun, maybe an RX8 that’s been rebuilt. But nows not the time.

I also reaaaally fancy a quad bike

I own 2 Model S. One is a P100D.

Did you know you can only use the launch 15 times before Tesla turn it off permanently?

As far as redefining technology you can’t use it for long journeys, if it rains it might take you an extra hour to get to your destination and the autopilot will try and kill you at least 1-5 times you use it.

But yes for the completely pointless task of drag racing it’s very good. What about the corner at the end?

I know they’re got flaws, serious flaws. I don’t own one, never mind two but I’ve seen and read about the auto pilot and the recalls etc.

But on a timeline, it’s very early technology, and as a company founded less than 20 years ago to be where they are now is phenomenal.

Whilst unofficial, the Nurburgring time of 7:23 also Indicates that corners aren’t much of a problem either. It’s nowhere near the top time’s but it’s still a fantastic time.
