Was awful Bees swarming all over my Loft space !

Last couple of years nothing but

This morning, I opened my loft space again & a bee was on my loft ladder.

.

Anybody Know a way to deter them ?

Put some ant powder anywhere you think they're getting in, they won't go near it as its toxic to them, anything that kills ants will do the same to wasps and bees.

The Town by The Cross

Are they bees ?

Don't spray anything at all. Don't try to harm them.

They don't use the same place twice so if you just leave them they will go at the end of the season.

If it is just one bee then let it out.

Are they in the eaves or the loft space?

They won't be coming down any time soon to watch t.v. with you.

Go take a pic of the bee and then find out what type it is.

DO NOT HARM BEES.

Whatever you do I think they're protected, so any deterrent needs to be the type that won't kill them off

They will all die come winter. At least you haven't got Wasps that will eat the wood up there

Are they definitely bees? Or wasps. We used to have wasps. Had to call someone to remove a nest

Craggy Island

You can deter bees from approaching an area with smoke, mothballs, and bitter almond oil, and deter them from building hives by blocking off holes and nearby water sources.

DON'T HARM BEES. WASP, YOU CAN KILL THOSE FUCKERS.

Ok thanks for the replies

Tried the council lsat with no luck

Yes they are bee for definate

Tried ant killer last time that really upsets them you should have hezrd the noise from them.

They have been back a few time in the past.

Moth balls almond oil is a new one to me so may try that.

I have ordered a metal mesh to put over the air brick they came in last time this morning on ebay.

Been told if they cannot get in one way they will find another etc !

Thanks for the replies

Are they Bumble Bees?

If so, they're protected and there's nothing you can legally do to remove them. The hive usually dies off in the Autumn.

If they're Honey Bees a Bee Keeper or the local council can remove them.

Honey Bees are the most likely to sting you should you get too close to the nest.

Bumble Bees are the big furry ovoid ones and are hardly likely to sting you.

Wasps might be "Cunts with wings" but they help keep pests under control.

Yes, and they also pollinate certain fruits that no other insects pollinate, such as some species of figs.

They don't like vinegar so if you can find where they are getting in put vinegar there.

Every species of spider has it's own parasitical wasp associated with it.

I think you get masnory bees - tend to keep to themselves - then go off to find some where knew. Have them near me.
