Firstly how to clean them? Also wooden ones ? Paddle brushes look like a bugger to clean. Suggestions for a new one?

Once you get the hair out, I suggest dunking the brush in warm soapy water to get the rest of the debris out, then leave to air dry.

Run a Stanley blade longways through the bristles and then pull out...

My girls have very thick long hair!

Hefty Hideaway

I only use a paddle brush. Hair comes away easily as long as it's frequently cleared. I never needed to wash it as it comes in the shower with me to brush conditioner through my hair.

I've bought a detangling hair brush in Lidl recently. After trying it I went back and bought two more just in case they won't have them again any time soon. Really easy to clean too as bristles are just straight without any bits on the ends.

Having said so a detangling hair brush from homebargains was rubbish and went straight to bin after trying it once.

East Sussex

I use a paddle brush and clean the hair out of it daily with my backcombing brush, when I wash them I do it with shampoo and a nail brush.

I went to school with a girl whose mum used to make a point of washing her hairbrush yearly. I have no idea why she told me this.

Brilliant. I use one as I’m really lazy when it comes to combing my hair.
