What's everyone's beauty routine looking like? Want to chat makeup? Playing while locked down?

I'm trying to talk myself out of an eyeshadow palette. I'm playing with looks a lot. Alternating between messing with wavy/curly hair methods and just chucking it back in a ponytail.

Recommendations for relaxing/ stress busting stuff in this arena? Face masks and the like? Jade rollers?

I love oils. Popped some coconut oil overnight on hair.. feels good. And my scalp feels less dry too.

Rest massaged in hands and cuticles.

Going to attempt homemade scrub today.

If anyone has a jade roller I want to hear more. It's on my wishlist but not convinced.

I'm definitely not convinced about jade rollers, but it might make my serum application more methodical and relaxing. And I get hideous tension headaches.

I use coconut oil as shaving cream, I find it not irritating compared to others.

Hair stuff, trying to find a balance between nourishing and weighing my hair down. It undoes some of my wave/curl when I plop.

Ah. Plop. Curly girl method is on my list to try. I switched to non parabens non silicone shampoo but not dived into the whole conditioner method. My hair used to be much more curly as a teen. Would love to get that more define wave back.

Let's wait for someone experienced about rollers

I've plopped a few times now but am waiting to use up the products I've got before I fully go down the rabbit hole. I use a microfibre sports towel. I get somewhere between a wave and a curl, it's quite dramatic. And it makes my hair go from untameable and boring to quite distinctive. When I have more mental resources I might consider doing it full time.

La la land

Well I cut my own fringe, which was a bit of a disaster and is now clipped back lol.

Am thinking of trying rag curls used to do it as a teenager so may give that a go.

And going make myself some salt scrub sometime this week.

I use straighteners to curl my hair, takes me ages but I love the look.

I have Cloud 9 straigteners, by far the best I have used.

I'm a curly girl follower - it transformed my hair from what I thought was 4b to 3a/b and it's grown a lot in length. It does take some getting used to and I do cheat because I sometimes blow dry my hair but not using certain hair products really changed the ease of managing it.

I applied makeup at home for the first time yesterday. Quite enjoyed it. Think I took a photo.

I exfoliate my body at least once a week when I remember to,

My hair's been growing out and seems to have become much oilier than it has been beformy bsck every time I shower.

I'm not scrubbing my scalp often enough and not entirely sure how much AVC-and-clay masks help.

And I discovered that I CANNOT tolerate silicones anywhere (Learnt the hard way from baby wipes)

Number your palettes (or shades), get someone to pick a number (or 3-4 numbers), and that's what you work with to make a look.

I'm in the very early stages and it's turning me from nothing to definitely something, which I like.

Having a nightmare with my hair it’s so dry due to over bleaching, I usually have a olaplex done at hairdressers I did make a conditioning treatment to use on it for over night that definitely seemed to help a little. My skin is acting like a teenagers all of a sudden maybe it’s due to my anxiety so have started using some face scrubs hopefully that will calm it down...

I think a lot of people are breaking out under lockdown. Got any salicylic acid?

I'm trying the newish L'Oréal range for encouraging hair growth. I find it quite heavy but deeply conditioning.

I can't see why not, although you might look at other causes on the body, like fungal acne.

Hyaluronic acid for dry skin, chemical exfoliant for dull (start with low concentration lactic acid, or mandelic acid if you have sensitive skin)

I've got some bodyshop body clay that is really nice... Leaves my skin really soft.. Looks crazy when it goes on though, it is black!

Also got a ginger + clay face mask.. When you put it on, it heats up... Feels really hot ! Not sure if i like it or not yet

The jade roller, claims are depuffing, product absorption, and facial massage leading to slower aging. Dunno if there's anything to it.

Personally I layer one treatment under my moisturiser morning and evening. It depends on your skin concerns.

I made my own scrub today. It feels lush. Mixed white and a bit of a brown sugar with olive oil. Demerara sugar is more sensitive skin friendly/softer. Jazzed it up with rosemary essential oil and lemon zest. Applied after normal showering. Only needed little lotion after.
