Never really a fan..... but then.....

Well okay I was at a rave last year (don't laugh I know I am in my 40's, in my defence it was the Masked Ball, so nobody knew!!)

It was about 4am and aside from thinking "fuck I am old" the crowd was flagging, then from nowhere the DJ puts on "Lay all your love on me" (or at least a remix).... best night of my 40's so far

Name another quartet since where the songwriting, singing, melodies and instrumentation blended so well together. They did all the work themselves. Supposed "artists" nowadays can't hold a candle to them talent wise.

ABBA's songs are actually very cleverly crafted using circular melodies

The end of the melody loops back to the beginning which is why their songs get stuck in your head

When I was at school, I was bullied because I loved Abba. So, I pretended to love Duran Duran instead and became one of the most popular girls in my school. I also had big tits for my age.

I used this newfound popularity to my advantage and 'dated' all the hot lads (which has nothing to do with this anecdote, I just wanted to gloat) and amidst this surge in popularity, I also wrote a musical which basically was, I guess, a fan fiction thing based on Lord of the Rings with the music of Abba.

One of my favourite memories is the whole school singing 'I believe in angels' as the protagonist of my musical lay dying after being stabbed by a gulnaz.

I was also a bit weird when I was younger but I did get an A in O'Level Drama.

Well how about The Beatles for a start, or Queen, The Who and lots more. If you raise the numbers a little you get The Eagles, Pink Floyd...I could go on, but

do you get the point now?

ABBA were a great band with fab songs and I remember them first hand, but they were not the best and most talented musicians ever. That's just hyperbole.
