Official petition for fab to add ‘NHS’ or ‘NHS worker’ to the photo category tags. Would be wicked to fill the hot photos with all NHS workers to show our support

Officialised by whom?

Not sure encouraging the objectification is a good idea.

Most Dr's and Nurses want to just be left alone to do their job as best as they can in their professional realm.

I suggest we let them concentrate on that.

It's unprofessional and I think fab are doing an excellent show of support already. There are many people out there in the care industry not just the NHS, I work for the NHS but find it distasteful people are posting with lanyards and uniform, but each to their own.

Did a whole thread on this called ‘am I being a twat’ it was specifically about people uploading pictures of them in their NHS uniforms, with some having other public pictures including face pictures in their profile, and the some showing the talks on their lanyards so could be quite easily recognised.

It’s irresponsible as fuck because they’re risking being dismissed because being on a site like this and showing your uniform and identity and identifying where you work it is bringing your employers name into disrepute.

Also I don’t believe they should be capitalising by using their uniforms.

Find it stupid and extremely poor taste, so no, they shouldn’t have a section dedicated to NHS workers the same as they shouldn’t have any other profession.

People are entitled to post whatever pics they want if they're within site rules....

......however I see those posting pics of themselves suggesting they work for the NHS, in the same way as those that post pics of themselves in military or other "service" uniform i.e. seeking to gain some kind of advantage or sympathy from the association - which I find quite sad personally.

A bad idea..most NHS staff would be governed by professional standards regulations, as are police officers etc. Being identified in uniform would be in breach of those professional standards.

Besides, I imagine that most public sector workers/ Crown servants just want to be themselves here, and not be stereotyped because of their profession.

I’m with you on this there’s no need to make to much fuss about it people can do what they like and of course people can have an opinion as well but to be honest the forum seems to becoming a bit of a witch-hunt. There’s far to many posts coming out now and people can’t possibly keep up with what is acceptable or not so my suggestion if it’s a repeat thread then say nothing and let it fizzle out or I fear in the long run the forum will become just a massive argument between us all

Posting pics with ID badges properly visible etc is stupid, but don’t understand why people get so worked up about what other people (grown adults) choose to do!

Anyone posting photos here, especially graphic ones or with face visible, is still likely to get dismissed or disciplinary action if their employer sees it, regardless of uniform or not

I think it’s interesting though as uniforms are one of the most common fetishes, if people made the choice to post uniform pics prior to all this fuss about NHS workers I doubt it would have had half the uproar.

People might not agree it’s in the best taste but you literally have already have dating websites where people capitalise on just that...

Many companies have a Morality Clause in their employment contract, meaning that a person can be fired for 'behaviour that could bring the employer into disrepute, or is contrary to the ethos of the employer.'

Uniform pics on a swingers web site will probably fall into that category.

All NHS workers have my respect because they are exposing themselves to higher risks but at the end of the day it’s the job they signed up to do. Like soldiers, like lorry drivers bringing the food to the supermarkets.

Everyone that’s still working is doing their bit under extraordinary circumstances and each profession has its own risks.

Really?

Tbh I find it really tasteless!

Last month we had a plethora of women posting pics of their bits or themselves having sex with ‘Fab it and I might fuck you’ type messages!

Now it’s a bunch of NHS workers with their tits hanging out of their uniform or just their tits and their ID necklace showing. One pic I saw literally had the moniker ‘fab to show support of the NHS’ or thereabouts!

Whilst I applaud the work they do (as we all do) I’d rather do it by voting for a future government who promises them a pay rise or better working conditions - not by fabbing their tits on a website!

I agree there wouldn't have been the fuss previously but it's *because* people posing "suggesting" they work for the NHS has become a thing since the outbreak that people are reacting the way they are - as I said further up it's almost like people posting those pics are somehow seeking to gain sympathy/advantage from it - same way as statuses and messages stating people work for the NHS are doing and for me that's pretty distasteful, same as it is people trying to use any kind of "service" uniform to sell themselves.

True, but it's the notion that people are posting pics exploiting the current events for popularity, which are admittedly tragic.

Would we condone pictures of firefighters by grenfell tower?

Yes its ultimately down to individuals what they post, but most people post what they think will be appreciated and get votes? Popular opinion suggests, they're great pics and we really appreciate what you do, but maybe not now with the nude NHS references?

I’ve met a few army guys that get pissed off by guys on here posing in their uniforms.

I’ve also seen guys I know from the real world with status updates hinting that they work for the NHS and I know full well they bloody don’t. Can I just point out though I do disagree with an ‘NHS worker’ category, that is tacky as hell. But just feel the constant vilification isn’t necessary. Plenty of people on these forums ask for fabs in statuses outright, is that much better?

And it’s not like these nurses are posing next to patients so the grenfell thing is...a stretch. Plenty of pictures of soldiers on here and there’s always a war somewhere. Not all NHS workers are healthcare professionals either, so not sure how a lanyard is offensive.

I think there's a great deal of difference between people posting NHS "support" pics and people deliberately flaunting that they work for the NHS almost in a "look at me aren't I great?" way and seeking to gain from it (which is the only conclusion I can draw for why they're doing it now when they didn't before all this).

Agreed! I also can’t recall a single person who responded to that ‘Thank you NHS’ thread asking for fabs in any way or suggesting that their pictures should be fabbed. It was quite literally just away to show support, gratitude and solidarity - something we all need right now and more so in the coming weeks unfortunately! X

Agree to disagree I think, those pictures are still out there for fabs and it can still come across as using the same principles for attention in my view. I mean how is a blue dick or some blue underwear really thanking the NHS for anything? I do agree on opinion though, I just feel like sometimes the OPs are ripped into a little on these threads unnecessarily.

I take your point but still think there's a difference between the two and don't think those pics showing support/solidarity were necessarily blatantly attention seeking - but for what it's worth I agree that posing in something blue to show support isn't necessarily directly "thanking" the NHS for anything other than making the poster feel good that they have done so, in the same way as on FB or Twitter people blindly share things to show their support - which seems to be the modern way, but then if it helps raise awareness somehow it's not a bad thing either.

As for the OP being ripped into, while I agree it can and does happen, I don't think he actually has on this thread - more those that seek to gain advantage by posing that way have - he put an idea out there and people have expressed their reasons why they don't think it was a good one
