Hi everyone, if you please have about 10 minutes to spare and wouldn’t mind answering 10 questions for me, I’d greatly appreciate it.

I would just like some opinions/ viewpoints on adult cinemas/ sexual entertainment venues and your thoughts and experiences (or even expectations) of them.

Yes, Fantasy Video near Old St and the one whose name escapes me on Brewer Street

FV was pretty gruesome! The Brewer St one was clean, had a bar, two cinema rooms ( upstairs more quiet / secluded ) and toilets that weren't a health hazard.

Around the same as local swing clubs, obviously varies by area.

Are you thinking of opening a cinema. They were great fun fantasy video was a bit grubby lol but sunset video was ok as bar area plus alot cleaner. Went too one outside kings x once can't remember name tho . But a cinema and a glory hole booths style would be absolutely fantastic but I doubt we will see again in London. I believe there is some cinemas still going up north tho never been

we are veterans of fantasy videos.great place for a greedy girl to attend like me.have fantastic memories of fv.yes was seedy but did add to the fun.mainly all guys there so good for me.then they moved to new cross which again was the same.also many years ago there was the willow club porn cinema in aldgate.closed down now but was well run and clean.ladies got towels to clean up and shower.all london ones gone now.but there is a market for a london porn cinema infact is needed.also tried taboo in birmingham and angels and sinners in wallsal.to be honest prefered the london ones.wish london could have another porn cinema.which most guys will agree.xx

I was a regular at Fantasy Video/Mr B's/Club 487 (Yes, this is all the same place) - I also wanted to attend when it became "The office" but it got shut down before i had a chance - As a "Straight" guy a lot of the time was a lot of watching porn, avoiding creepy guys and waiting for a woman/couple to attend, but when they did it would make it all worth it - have had some fantastic experiences in FV - Also had an experience with a convincing TV there, though was less to my liking - I did love the seedyness of the venue though, that pissy, grimey cum smell as you enter was quite a turn on.

high street is generally a bad idea, better somewhere quiet - though i think location within London would be more important (I would visit anyway)

The chance of finding a greedy girl ofcourse

9. Which method of payment would be best suited for you, card payment under a generic company name or traditional cash payment? I would always pay cash and i believe that the preffered method, but optional card payment to a generic name would work too

You’re definitely right, even I’m nervous at the prospect of meets again once all this has passed.

I started doing this research a) cos most of us are at home now

b) you are all the perfect demographic to ask

c) it gives me lots of time to try and get this properly off the ground and to actually grasp what people would like, so I really appreciate you taking the time to respond xx

high street is generally a bad idea, better somewhere quiet - though i think location within London would be more important (I would visit anyway)

On the bright side there is no cure for HIV yet we still swing, it's like a car, millions are killed worldwide in accidents yet we know the risk but buy and drive more.

If you want to start a movie house definitely is a market but you need something attached that would draw in a customer base.

Without going into all the laws as in the UK its like under Cromwell and his puritans at the moment so a strip club attached is a good idea but legally it wouldn't fly. I would do a nightclub/pub with a movie house and but totally hedonistic theme, over time the movie house will sort itself out.

I have never been to one and these may be uninformed views..but it's based on my observations on here and say the attic or chams which side clubs that have cinemas.. it seems to me the porn cinema is primarily a place where greedy girls go..and guys go to the cinema..really to wait, hope in anticipation for them. What's showing.. seems of secondary concern....so anything that allows people to know when others are attending, and facilities to enable people to play and clean up afterwards seems important...

i live about 20 minutes from The Empire Huddersfield a porn cinema thats still open and has been since the seventies

fantastic is all i can say. great staff and facilities. busy at times with all sexes but mostly guys tbh

Yes I think there is a Market for them in London. Since the closure of a lot of cinemas. There’s no place to visit to watch Porn and play. I’d prefer a side street entrance as usually people object to having sex related shops on the highstreet.

Yes I went to one in The Empire in Huddersfield. It was ok. Mainly old men wanking away. I like the seediness of it but would prefer comfortable facilities.

I was expecting it to be mainly blokes to be fair. I would have liked a few more women there but like most of these places it’s male dominated.

Yes it would have to be accessible by transport for me or have parking facilities nearby. As stated before I’d prefer a side street entrance.

Decent films, cleanliness, range of people

Card or cash.

I read through the requirements and laws someone shared above. It's "technically" possible, but one single line allows them to block it, and that is the "number of such establishments in an area" and the acceptable number can be zero.

I still thing a good and well prepared plan, and then a decent legal challenge could result in the opening of one.

I say this as I visited a few in London over the years, and also wondered why they disappeared. I spend a lot of time in Paris, New York and Cape Town, and noticed that NYC has also had a lot disappear over the past 10 years, but a few exist in bookshops and the like. Paris and Cape Town are great.

I've been tempted to open and fund one of these, as well as a gay cruising venue like a cinema.

To answer the questions (no idea how to double quote)...

Yes! This kind of venue is sorely needed in London. An anonymous side door just off a high street, leading to a nice sleazy basement would be good. Well laid out, clean, toilets, etc would be great. Perhaps a main cinema, some gloryholes, private dark nooks and crannies, maybe a cubicle or three too. Entrance at £10 to £15 or a week for £35 would go down well. Open from 10am to 10pm would work even.

Yes I think there is a Market for them in London. Since the closure of a lot of cinemas. There’s no place to visit to watch Porn and play. I’d prefer a side street entrance as usually people object to having sex related shops on the highstreet.

Yes it would have to be accessible by transport for me or have parking facilities nearby. As stated before I’d prefer a side street entrance.

I think the key mistake fv made when they went to Lewisham was not being honest with the council. They soon got inspected, were found to be breaching licence conditions and closed down. My suggestion is to talk openly and honestly to officers of different councils about the sort of thing you want to offer and the sort of location they would find acceptable. As well as giving you clarity early on it will build a relationship with them. If you get a rep for being 100% honest it will help massively later on. All councils differ - you may find one that accepts you in the right location. Not a total guarantee for the long term - Westminster changed their policy and decided to clean up Soho. But that was because the number of sex establishments was affecting the character of an important tourist area. If you pick an area where there's nothing similar, that shouldn't happen - although you can always get a Mrs Whitehouse type campaigning against you. Good luck.

. When we get back to normal then I would suggest Kestrels / Abfabs during the day it’s a Kestrels spa and in the evening it’s more of a club.It has a cinema room I believe a film is playing at all time.It’s near Heathrow
